Imagine Sherlock when he was younger. He was just a kid. Having fun until one day while Sherlock was playing pirate he annoyed Mycroft too many times and Mycroft just starts yelling at him.
"YOU CAN'T BE A PIRATE. YOU CAN'T BE WITH REDBEARD FOREVER. YOU DON'T HAVE ANY FRIEND. YOU. FREAK!"
And Sherlock looks at Redbeard and starts to cry.
Mycroft didn't yell at him for no reason.
He yelled at Sherlock because tomorrow was the day that he was going to put Redbeard down and he wanted Sherlock to know that caring isn't an advantage.
