Gin was alone for the first time in what felt like weeks.

Beth was out job hunting, and she didn't have any work that needed to be done, so she had decided to kick back and watch some TV all day.

She was deep into the third episode on some k-drama on Netflix when there was a knock on her door. Sighing, she skipped back a bit and paused it, she didn't want to miss anything later when she started it up again, then went to answer the door. If it was something stupid, she was more than likely gonna have to kill them.

Yanking the door open, she saw Burn standing there, looking a bit sheepish.

"Hi." Was all he said.

She huffed and turned, walking away. She didn't invite him in, she didn't even want to see him at the moment.
When he still hadn't said anything by the time she had the remote in her hand, she snapped," What do you want?"

"I wanted to talk."

"Too bad. I stopped wanting to talk to you yesterday when I found out you had changed your number."

"Gin, I..."

"No ,I gave you the benefit of the doubt when you ignored my calls and messages, I mean, you did have an episode. So I thought, 'I'll just keep letting him know I'm here when he needs me.' Only for you to just change your number and cut off our connection. I thought we were friends!"

"We are! Gin, please listen." She really just wanted him to leave but he had decided to get it over with. "I saw Mitchell."

Her head snapped up in shock. "Mitchell, your foster brother?"

"Yeah. He was just walking down the road, didn't even notice me. But all the memories came back, and I just couldn't handle them. I freaked out and got a new number, thinking he had my old one. I didn't even give realize I didn't send it to you till this morning. I'm really sorry, Gin. I know it doesn't excuse it, but I just wasn't thinking straight."

She sighed. She really wanted to hate him, but she knew how bad he could get. She was still angry, but she supposed she could let it go.

"Fine. Do it again, and I won't be so understanding."

He smiled, "So you forgive me?"

For some reason that made her angry.

"No." His smile fell. "I get it, you were freaking out, but you just cut me off as if I was nothing to you. You remembered me enough to come straight here, but forgot me as soon as Reaper took you home."

"I know I'm a bastard. There is no excuse I can give you that will makeup for it."

"Glad you understand." She was going to leave it at that, but she was annoyed enough that she decided just to rip into him some more. The amount of pent up anger she had built up over the last few weeks was off the charts. "I shouldn't have been surprised that I was easy to cut off. I mean, you knew all about Griff being a cheating piece of shit and didn't think to tell me! I made excuses for you in my head, 'they are your family' 'you cant help but want to protect him', 'he isn't just you closest friend, he is also your brother.' But now that I think about it, I've realized that I just don't rate on your radar. You care about your brothers, I get it. But fucks sake Burn, after how close we got I thought that you would have at least given me a heads up. But no!"

"He told me he would stop! I didn't want to hurt you for no reason when he was gonna end it anyway."

"But he didn't did he! And that is some fucked up reasoning by the way. Did you think it wouldn't hurt if he stopped? That it wouldn't hurt me if he had stopped, but then years down the line, it all came out? It hurts enough as it is, knowing that she was so irresistible to him, that I was nothing but a glorified teddy bear to hug at night!" Tears had started falling, but she didn't wipe them away. He had hurt her by not telling her, for hiding something so life changing, and she wanted him to know just how much. Sod, being forgiving. She had anger, and she deserved better.

"Gin..." He said, looking broken. "I didn't think about it. I just didn't want you to be hurt in any way."

"WELL, THAT DIDNT FUCKING WORK DID IT?" She yelled then took a deep breath. "I can't talk right now. I just want to punch you in the balls too much. So, maybe just leave." She marched over to the door and yanked it open gesturing for him to leave just as Cody's door opened.

"You okay, Gin? I heard you yelling." He asked as he glared over her shoulder.

"Yeah, just finally letting my anger out, is all."

"I'll go, Gin. I'll give you a call in a few days. I really am sorry, I'm such a screw up." She hated the tone he used. He sounded so defeated, but she wasn't gonna give in right now.

She stood her ground when he walked past her and down the corridor. She sighed, her anger quickly leaving her once he was out of sight.

"Hey," Cody said as he gently placed his hand on her shoulder. "You wanna talk about it?"

For a moment, she thought about turning him down, but then had second thoughts. "You know what, actually, I'd much rather go out. I need to get out."

He smiled, "No problem. Let me grab my wallet and I'll take you out. How does that sound?"

She smiled back at him. "Sounds great." For the first time in awhile, she was excited about something. She just didn't know if there was gonna be more to it then just going to eat.

Griff was sitting in Burns car, waiting for him to come back from having a talk with Gin. He had ignored her as he was spiraling, and wanted to make it up to her. Not sure how he planned to do that, she wasn't all that forgiving at the moment.

With good reason.

He really wanted to go and talk with her himself, but knew that she wasn't ready for that. And if he was going to be honest with himself, he wasn't sure he was ready either.

He hadn't been waiting long when he saw Burn come out of the building and storm over to the car. It was clear that the talk hadn't gone well. And he was sure that he wouldn't wanna talk with him at the moment. He would have to wait for a while before trying to get him to open up. When he didn't start the car immediately Griff knew he was gonna have to wait for his head to clear.

They had been sitting there for a while when he noticed Gin walking out of the building. But she wasn't alone. That jerk that lived next to her was with her. And she was smiling.

To say that hurt, to see her smile at someone else, was an understatement. And he wanted to fuck that guy up so bad. He reached for the handle and made to get out, but Burn grabbed him and almost slammed him back in the seat.

"Don't even think about it!" he snarled at him. His head seemingly clear again. "You don't get a say in what she does!"

"I know I don't, I cant help but wanna fuck him up, though." he said sullenly.

"Well, suck it up. After everything she has been through she deserves to have a bit of fun."

Fun? Fun! No! How was he supposed to managed knowing that she was having fun without him? How was he supposed deal with knowing that she might be moving on from him?

"Get over it! You fucking cheated on her, you don't get to be upset that she wants to have sex with someone else! Or that she might want to move on."

"How that fuck am I supposed to get over it? I know I fucked up but I don't wanna lose her. I love her!"

"Got a funny way of showing it!" muttered Burn.

"Just shut up and follow them!" He was annoyed. How could she go out with someone when they hadn't really broken up yet? Did she really not have any feelings left for him?

The more he thought about it the angrier he got. He didn't care that it was irrational, he only cared that she was going on a date with someone else.

Burn chuckled darkly, "Not nice is it?"

"The fuck you talking about?" he snarled.

Burn chuckled as he put the car in drive, and began following them. What he found funny about this situation, he didn't know. He did know that he was watching his girl, the love of his life, going on a date with someone else.

And it hurt.
