Reaper knew he was dying.
He could feel the blood flowing out of the gunshot wound in his gut. A cold feeling started to spread throughout his body.
He welcomed death.
For forty years he wanted nothing more than to die and finally be with his Sil and baby again. But after all he has done in his life he knew deep down he would never see her again, if there was a here after that was.
"Reaper, no!" He heard Gin crying by his shoulder, her small hand fluttering around his head not knowing where to touch.
He smiled at her, "It's okay, Ginny Girl. It's okay. More than ready, been way over due." He told her, his voice coming out haltingly, reaching up he stroked her tears away being careful as her face was swollen from the multiple hits it had clearly taken.
If he had one thing to be thankful for in his life, it was that he could save Gin. The psycho bitch was being tied up, and the sicko she was gonna sell Gin to was having a taste of what was to come, along with his men.
Thankfully, he was the only one they were gonna lose today.
"Fuck!" A voice he knew all too well said as he fell to the ground and tried to staunch the bleeding. A look of panic on the man's face.
"Freddric, it's okay. I'm ready to follow her now. Been too long."
"No!" The agonized cry from Gin almost tore his heart out.
"It's okay, Ginny Girl, I'm okay.".
She started sobbing next to him, while Freddric ignored him. "No! I'm not letting you give up! We are going to get you to the hospital and fix you up, then I'm gonna kick your ass for pulling this shit!"
"Freddric..."
"NO! AFTER EVERYTHING I CANT LOSE YOU AS WELL! YOUR MY BROTHER, MY TRUE BROTHER! PLEASE DONT LEAVE ME!"
"I'm sorry, Freddric, it's too late. I'm losing too much blood, must have hit something important. You... you are my brother too. Love you kid."
The pain was starting to fade now, a clear sign that he was nearing the end. He didn't want to die like this, but he also didn't want to live any more. It hurt to breath at times when he thought of his girl. If you are reading this anywhere but on Wattpad, then this story has been stolen. It is free to read on Wattpad. It was getting harder each year to hear her voice in his dreams. To see her face clearly. The pictures he had were faded and worn now. And he could do nothing about it, he couldn't replace them, and didn't trust anyone to restore them.
People were talking and yelling around him, but he couldn't hear what they were saying.
A slight light shone from a doorway to his left. Odd considering there was no way a light like that could be coming from that room. Odder still was the fact his eyes weren't even reacting to it. He had pulled his glasses off after he was shot, needing a better look at his wound.
He raised his head slightly, to try and get a better look at what the light might be, when he saw a figure walking through it towards him.
He frowned at it, until he saw who it was. A smile he hadn't smiled in forty years came to his face. "Sil." He sighed.
She smiled at him and looked down at the little bundle she was holding. Then held her hand out towards him, a look of love on her face.
He smiled, nodding his head and closed his eyes.
The next thing he knew he was standing in front of her, looking down at their baby. Happy to be with them again.
He turned to look at the group surrounding his body. "Will they be alright?" He asked her, concerned about the people he was going to be leaving behind.
She looked over as well, as she leant her head on his shoulder. "They will be, eventually." She was silent for a moment before she said, "Thank you for looking out for him." She looked lovingly at Freddric, her favorite cousin. "He's grown up onto a fine man. A good man. All thanks to you." She smiled at him again as he wrapped his arms around both her and their baby. "Ready to go?" She asked a moment later when she looked up at him, tears in her eyes.
"Go? Go where?"
"We've been waiting for you for forty years, darling. It's time we moved on, together."
He smiled, looked at the people who had become his family, then turned to the woman and baby he had missed for so long. He knew that he should be scared, but when he looked into her eyes he knew there was only one thing he wanted to do. "Let's go, angel. Can't wait to be with you again."
And with that they turned and walked towards the light, with identical happy smiles on their faces.
They may not have known where they were going, but they were going together.
And that was all Reaper had ever wanted.
To be with his girl and their baby, forever.

And now he was going to be.
