new beginnings

It had been about a week since they had rounded up all the sick pricks that had hurt so many people, including Misty.
Things had settled down some. Some of the men who had tried to take Gin, unfortunately, didn't make it. Which was a shame, as they were all having a blast teaching them the error of their ways.
Griff was sitting at the bar, waiting for Gin to get back. She had another therapy session to attend. Usually, he would go with her, but she had wanted to start going alone. She felt that she needed to stand on her own now and face her demons head on.
He was glad that she was taking those steps, but he liked going with her. His appointment was tomorrow, and Gin was busy showing Misty and Angel her apartment.
She had been talking to them both a lot over the week, and they both said that they would feel more comfortable being away from the clubhouse for a time.
And he agreed. After everything that they had been through, they needed to heal. And it would be easier if they weren't surrounded by reminders.
Corpse was a mess. Several times in the last week, Griff had caught the man sitting outside the room Angel was in, right before he went down to the basement.
Snake wasn't looking good, not that anyone truly cared, but he only had himself to blame. Several of the brothers had relatives who had suffered domestic abuse of some sort, and they were all having a go at the man that they had called brother.
But none of them would let him die yet, several times Surg had to be called in to reccusatate the man. For everything that he had done, he was due a fuck tone of pain.
It turned out that the man was a snake in more ways than they had known. He had been stealing from them all, selling info to anyone who would pay enough and had also been caught in a few of the videos that Chipper had found.
The thought of it all made him sick. How could they have missed someone like that in their midst?
Silvester walked past him at that moment, wiping his hands. Clearly, he had come from the basement. The man had a lot of love for Misty, although Griff wasn't sure what type of love that was.
He didn't seen Freddric until he sat down next to him, scaring the shit outta him when he slapped his shoulder.
"Damn, I need a drink." The man said as he fanned himself. "Worked up a sweat there."
"Yeah, fun times or hard times?" He asked.
Freddric smiled, a wicked little smile that had Griff smiling in return. "Honey, if the fun times aren't hard, they ain't fun."
"I have to agree with my flamboyant Uncle there." Cody said, coming out of nowhere.
Why were these two still hanging around here?
Boom walked up to them then, grabbing Freddric and spinning him around on his stool so fast he was surprised the man was still seated. "You're late."
The man nodded, "Yep, brother dear, was being uncooperative. Sorry. Forgive me?"
That would be why they were still here then.
Griff turned towards the door as it opened, and saw Gin walking in. His smile was almost blinding.
She looked around before her eyes landed on him, she belined for him and wrapped her arms around him burying her face in his chest.
"Okay Ginny?" He asked quietly. She only nodded. "Hard session?" He guessed.
Again she nodded. He didn't ask anything else, just let her hug him. He knew more than anyone just how taxing therapy could be. Opening old wounds, and even reopening new ones, was extremely hard to do, and could often leave him feeling raw.
So he let her hold onto him for as long as she needed to.
Soon, her hold relaxed a little and she pulled back with a weak smile.
"Everything okay, dar...um, Gin?" Cody asked from his seat next to them.
It was strange. He should hate the man, given what he knew the two of them had done while he and Gin were separated. But he just couldn't do it. Over the past few weeks, he had shown just how much of a friend he could be to not only himself but the whole club. It helped that he wasn't still sleeping with Gin, but even if he had been, Griff wasn't sure that he would have minded.
And that was something he wanted to talk out with Amanda. No way was he gonna talk to Gin about it.
She might freak out or something.
And it wasn't a lie, per say, just not admitting something that he wasn't sure he wanted to admit to.
"Yeah, I'm okay. Thanks for asking." She smiled at the man.
The look he saw in Cody's eyes mirrored his own when she would smile at him. And he knew that this man was in love, or at least had strong feelings towards, his girl.
And he wasn't sure how he felt about that. All he knew was he didn't want to punch him in the face and tell him to stay the fuck away from her.

Gin had gotten closer to Misty over the last week.
After the fuck up she made at the beginning, they talked alot and found they were pretty similar in personality. She wouldn't say that she had hit it off with her, but they were most definitely friendlier.
She was glad when she had said that she wanted to move into her apartment for a while. Both her and Angel had suffered so much and both needed time alone to sort through their thoughts, as well as heal their bodies. It was bound to take a long time, but she wanted to help in anyway that she could.
So offering them a safe place was a start. She had already given them keys, and had had Griff get them new phones, already programmed with a few numbers in case of emergencies. She had also allowed the club to pay for some more home security. She was sure that she had the safest apartment in the block.
She did feel a little sorry for the guys at times, but then she would remember what the women they apparently loved and cared for had been through and the feeling passed.
Cody was still friendly with her and she was honestly so happy that she hadn't lost him. He had been her rock in her time of need. He was still hanging around the clubhouse, dealing with his father. And she saw the toll it was taking on him.
After the initial decision about the people in the basement  she wanted nothing to do with it all. Whenever they crossed her mind it felt as if she was back in that warehouse watching Reaper die in front of her again, and it was suffocating.
Rita said she was taking her time with the women in her 'charge' as she called it. And she honestly didn't want the details. It was bad enough that she had told her that Mags was already beginning to look like mince meat. The mere thought of what she had been doing to her turned her stomach.
Griff was always there for her, and when he couldn't be he made sure that Beth was there instead. He had really proven that he was a different man now.
Again, he had asked if she wanted to find a house with him to move in together. But she had explained that even though she was happy to be with him in the clubhouse for now, she didn't want to move in with him yet. That was a step that she just couldn't justify.
But she did know that she wanted to be with him. She wanted to support him, love him, and comfort him when he needed her, just like he has been doing for her.
Which was why they were currently standing on the steps of a porch that needed work and knocking on the door.
