Gin walked slowly towards the room Misty was staying in.

She had felt like a total bitch when she had woken up this morning. The memory of what she had said to Griff coming to her slowly, but as soon as she completely remembered, she felt shame wash over her.

How could she be so cold to the woman who had lost everything because of another woman?

Especially as she had lost a great deal due to Mags.

Griff had told her that she had only heard Brodys part and that she didn't have all of the information so she could get a few things wrong, but that really didn't excuse what she had said.

The woman had suffered for months, due to his decision and she was basically saying that she should forgive and forget? Regardless of how hard he tried to find her afterwards, it doesn't change the fact that when he was faced with that decision he had chosen someone else.

Yes, it was his sister. And yes, she understood that he was her big brother and the need to protect her must have been strong. But does that change the fact that he left his wife in the hands of men who saw her as nothing but an object to use for their own pleasure?

Even if he hadn't known that she was pregnant at the time, he still should have done everything he could have to save her at the same time as his sister.

Gin felt the need to apologize to the woman, she didn't know Misty at all but the mere fact that she had so easily sided with Brody last night, felt wrong.

As she looked at the woman sitting on the bed, staring vacantly at the window, she felt a surge of protectiveness wash over her.

She was sitting there, covered in bruises, cuts and abrasions. And even from here she could see the bruises left on her jaw from someone holding it too tight. Just the idea alone of why he had been holding her jaw in the first place brought tears to her eyes.

"Misty?" She called softly as she stepped closer. The eyes that turned her way were vacant. "My name in Gin, or Ginny, it doesn't really matter which. I just wanted to say I'm sorry."

"Why are you sorry? You haven't done anything to me." Her voice held no emotion whatsoever, and it chilled her to the core.

Clearly this woman had suffered so much she feels almost, if not completely, dead inside.

"I know, but..." Now that she was here she just couldn't say it. How would she feel if she was faced with a complete stranger saying they were sorry for suggesting that she would be happy to go back to the man who had abandoned her and left her to be raped? No, now that she was here she thought it best to just let her know that she was here for her if she needed someone. "Whilst it's not the same at all, I just wanted to let you know that I know what it's like for someone you care about to choose someone else."

"Do you?" Was her hollow reply.

She nodded, "Griff, my...boyfriend I guess, he cheated on me. A lot, actually. He would leave me and go to her. Took a lot for me to get past it, but I did and he is completely different now."

"Not really the same though, is it?" Was that a flicker of something in her eyes? Anger, maybe?

"No, it's not. But I wanted you to know that I'm here if you ever want to talk. And I wanted to offer you my apartment, if you don't feel comfortable being here that is. It's in a safe neighborhood, and has quite a bit of security. No one can get in without buzzing and there are security cameras in all the halls." Misty didn't say anything, just turned back to the window.

Gin was about to leave when she heard Misty start talking quietly. "I knew he was going to choose her. Deep down, I knew. He's a cold man. Difficult to get close to most of the time. I thought I had found a special place in his heart, though. But then he chose to save her. Proving that he didn't love me, like I loved him." Gin stayed quiet, letting the other woman talk. "I thought she liked me, was happy that I was with him." She scoffed, "But she hated me. She knew I was pregnant, she had been helping me arrange a surprise for him. That was why we went out, to get a few more bits." A lone tear fell from her eyes and Gin had to hold herself back from rushing the woman. Instead she walked over to the bathroom and grabbed some tissue.
