Cody slumped down in the booth Boom had shoved him into.

He didn't wanna be here, he wanted to be down in the basement carving into the fucker who was gonna hurt Gin. But he supposed that they were right, he did need a break.

And if he was going to be honest with himself, he needed Gin.

She had become the only woman that he cared about.

He had started having sex with her on a purely sex basis. It was nothing more than that. But over the course of the time they had shared a bed, she had wormed her way into his heart. A place he was sure had been closed off after Tina's betrayal.

He frowned thinking about that woman. She had sort him out for only one purpose, to get information on his family and their businesses.

He'd been a fool, thinking that she was the woman for him, that she was perfect. Everything about her was almost as if she was made for him. Of course now he knew that that version of her was made for him. They had profiled all of his past girlfriends and created Tina, the voluptuous woman who took no shit but still wanted a knight in shining armor.

And he had fallen for it hook line and sinker.

She had lied about everything, well everything apart from her screams in bed. Those there was no way she had faked. She wasn't even supposed to take it that far with him, apparently. She was only supposed to get close enough to get the information, then disappear. But she had kept telling her superiors that she couldn't get the info they so desperately needed. All because she loved his cock.

She had forgotten her mission and the fact that she was married with kids, when he had started fucking her. For months they had done nothing but fuck each other whenever they met. He had thought that they were so in love that they just couldn't get enough of each other.

But it turned out that she had had a job to do, a job she was putting off to get fucked out of her mind.

He wouldn't have found out, but she had left her house keys at his place, they had fallen out of her bag when she dropped it as soon as she stepped foot in the door, and by the time he had gotten outside she was already pulling away.

So he did the only thing that he could think of doing.

He jumped in his car and followed her. He was always curious about where she lived, she always insisted that they meet at his place. But what he found almost killed him.

As soon as she got out of the car she was met by a man who pulled her into his arms and kissed her. All the while holding what looked like a six month old baby in his arms.

He had been crushed.

There he was thinking of popping the question and she had a family.

No wonder she hadn't wanted to meet at hers!

He had confronted her when she came by the next day, and she had broken down in tears. Apparently her husband had been neglecting her since the baby was born and she wanted to feel like a woman again, something he made her feel. She was never supposed to take it as far as she had though.

As if that was a consolation.

She had wanted to keep going, but he told her flat out, he would never fuck a woman who was happy to cheat on her loving husband, who was at home with the kiddies.

And that was that.

He didn't find out that she was an undercover detective until later.

Which he supposed was a good thing. He really didn't like killing mothers.

Movement to his left drew his attention.

Gin and her friend Beth, along with a club girl were walking towards the bar.

Fuck, he never should have fallen for her. He knew she was going to ge tback with Griff, it was only a matter of time. Any fool could see that.

And he wasn't the type of guy to stop a woman from being happy just because he wanted her for himself. But fuck if she wasn't gorgeous.

Not just her body, but her mind as well. The amount of times she had said the most random things that popped into her head while they were in bed after fucking each other blind, was almost too many to count. And he had loved every moment of it.

He had secretly hoped that she would turn around and say that she wanted to make things official with him, but he knew she wouldn't.

She was just too good for a guy like him, anyway.

He stood abruptly, grabbing his beer before heading to the room he had been staying in for the past few weeks. He just couldn't look at her right now.
