The streets were so much quieter than during the day, with only a few cars passing by and the streetlights casting long shadows. I felt a shiver of excitement and fear run down my spine as I stood on the rooftop, looking down at the city I loved.
Stain ushered me to get out with the costume and just start doing what I wanted. Even Serpant was there backing this craziness up. I don't know why I thought that they would stop me from becoming a vigilante but both of them were super supportive.
This was how I got out tonight.... after all tonight should be my very first night out.
It's something I've dreamed about for so long. While other kids were busy playing video games or hanging out at the mall, I was bullied and had to endure so much. No one would think that a kid like me would make it and would become a vigilante out of everything. A villain would be more reasonable... or dead but I perfer to stick with the living.
Alright, Izu, you can do this!
I leaped from the rooftop, landing quietly in an alley below. My heart pounded in my chest, but I felt alive. Every sound seemed amplified—the rustle of leaves, the distant hum of a car engine, and the soft buzz of a neon sign.
As I moved through the streets, I kept my eyes and ears open for any sign of trouble. I knew the parts of the city where crime was most likely to happen, and I headed towards them. The first hour was quiet, almost too quiet. I started to wonder if I'd picked the wrong night for my debut.
Maybe I should go up on a rooftop?
I should be able to see more from up there....
but it is also harder to get down if I go up again.
The last hosue was just a small one so I could jump down without breaking anything but if I get up there now...
No...
Noooooo
I don't need Hawks or Eraserhead to find me that easily.
I'll stick for the ground for now.
Then I heard it—a faint sound, like glass breaking, followed by hushed voices. I pressed myself against the wall and edged closer to the source of the noise. My pulse quickened as I peeked around the corner and saw them: three men dressed in dark clothes, trying to break into a small jewelry store.
My mind raced. This was it. This was my chance to get moving. I was waiting for this after all. After months of training and creating myself a solid alibi, this was it!
I took a deep breath and moved closer, trying to remember everything I'd practiced.
Me: Hey, what are you doing?
Honestly, I thought that my voice would be shaky but it was steady despite the adrenaline coursing through me.
The thieves looked up, startled. For a moment, they seemed confused by the sight of a teenager challenging them. Then one of them laughed. Of course they had to laugh... what else? There was a crazy kid in front of them and that very kid was me... I was not only threatening them but I was definitely gonna beat their asses if they move or just look at me the wrong way. Let's just hope they won't call me short or they all might be a head shorter at the end of the day.
???: Look at this, boys. We got ourselves a little hero,.... hahahahahaha
My heart pounded even harder, but I couldn't back down now. I knew I could do it.
Me: Leave now, and I won't have to hurt you,.....
I might have said that but not even I was trusting my very own words. I of course was trying to sound more confident than I felt. However, it was easier said than done for sure.
One of the men lunged at me, but I'd anticipated his move. I dodged to the side and swept his legs out from under him, sending him crashing to the ground. The second man swung a crowbar at me, but I ducked and delivered a quick punch to his gut, knocking the wind out of him.
The third man hesitated, clearly reconsidering his options. Maybe that one would try to use his quirk on me but all I got was the man panicking in front of me or thinking a bit more than he should. I took advantage of his uncertainty and tackled him, pinning him to the ground. As he struggled, I realized how strong I actually was—stronger than I ever felt in practice.... stronger than what I was before I started training with Stain. The man didn't only teach me strength but also speed which was definitely a great skill to have not to mention agility to avoid everything and act accordingly without getting hurt at all.
Me: Call the cops!
I yelled to a passerby who had stopped to watch. She nodded and pulled out her phone, dialing 911. This was all I said after I knocked every sinlge one of them out. For now this should do. I would certainly sooner or later go to the police station to say "hi" but not tonight.... tonight I was feeling invincible and I knew how dangerous that could be. I could in fact think a bit too highly of myself and get in a very burning and dangerous situation. Besides I still felt the drenalin rush and I knew that I was about to get careles. I needed a clear mind and not rely on this. My hands also started shaking once I was done which was one of the main reasons why I decided to leave it be after this one stunt and just look around to see what route I should make my very own Vigilante patrolling rout.
However, I couldn't help it but climb the wall to the emergency fire staircase and then wait for the police to see what would happen to the thugs. The police arrived within minutes, and the thieves were quickly arrested. As the officers loaded the men into their squad cars, I could see this one detective searching the area for any hints as if he was searching for me.
Alright....
I definitely will trouble that guy.
He seems like a good detetctive... I might be biased but it is smart to look around.
Especially after asking that woman....It should be obvious that I am still around here....
Hmmmm......
I wonder why they are not searching for me...
Perhapse he is chill with vigilantes...
Whelp, ama find that one out for sure soon.
