School was finally over, and I was more than ready to head home. After the chaotic day—pranks from the third-year support course, Shoto's... intense way of handling things... I mean the confession and that last splash of cold water—I was looking forward to some peace and quiet. My uniform was still damp, and the cool evening breeze wasn't helping.
As I walked down the street, lost in thought, a familiar voice broke through the quiet.
Serpant: Long day, Izuku?
I stopped, turning to see him leaning against a streetlight, his eyes sharp and focused. There was always something unsettling about the way Serpant watched me... well sometimes that man was a mystery to me, but I knew better than to let it show or let him freak me out. If Stain was not freaking me out with his tongue, then Serpant couldn't be worse.
Me: Serpant? What are you doing here?
He straightened up and started walking toward me.
Serpant: I'm here to pick you up.
Pick me up?
That was odd. Usually, I'd get a message if something was up, but today, nothing. Still, Serpant wouldn't be here unless it was important.
Me: Alright. Lead the way.
I followed him through a series of alleyways, the city's familiar buildings giving way to more deserted, rundown areas. Sometimes I wish that this city didn't had any of this and would be a great place for everyone but I knew better than t live in a dream.
The deeper we went, the more something felt off. Finally, we stopped in front of an old warehouse. Serpant opened the door and gestured for me to go inside. I hesitated but then nodded and stepped in.
The warehouse was dimly lit, shadows flickering across the walls. My footsteps echoed slightly as we moved further in.
Serpant: Come on, everyone's waiting.
Everyone?
That caught my attention. Usually, these meetings were small and it would be just the three of us—this felt different, like something big was about to happen.
As we reached the heart of the warehouse, I spotted them. Two figures sitting around a table, engaged in a deep conversation. My breath caught when I realized who they were.
Shigaraki: Hey there, Izu. Long time no see.
Shigaraki, the League of Villains' captain, was like a brother to me.... and he was the kid my dad took in.... But seeing him here with Stain reminded me of the double life I was leading. A life that was getting harder to keep separate from my time at UA.... or would be... I had a feeling that things would get complicated from here on out.
Oh oh...
This isn't a good sign...
Why are they both in one and the same room...
Me: Tomura... Stain...
I tried to keep my voice steady, but my mind was racing.
What was this about?
Why now?
What happened?
Stain: Come, sit. We've got a lot to talk about.
I moved toward the table, feeling the weight of their gazes on me. Whatever this was, it wasn't going to be a simple conversation. But as I took my seat, I couldn't shake the strange sense of comfort... these people were people I trusted and knew that they wouldn't go at each other throats because of me...and yet it was weird to see them all here sitting together.
Shigaraki: Care to say where you went?
Me: What do you mean?
Stain: You were off the radar.
Shigaraki: Not to mention that Kurogiri found you in a detectives office.
Serpant: And you were not in the underground.
Me: The hell.... come on you all can't gang up on me like that.
Shigaraki: Did something happen?
Serpant: Yes we can.
Stain: Just spill it.
Me: I am fine, I just got frightened by dead kids.
Serpant: OmO.... what?
Stain: Who and Where?
Shigaraki: Don't care about anything but the Who.
Me: Don't know.
They started to question me out a bit more and more and it started to annoy me that I somehow spilled it.....all... everything... not even letting out a single thing.... I told them about the quirkless thing, the bird masks and the lab and then the kids.... the dead bodies... Eri.... I just had to do something.
Shigaraki: So he is doing a move....
Stain: Who?
Serpant: The mafia.
Shigaraki: Are they?
Serpant: Something like it and I am still calling them mafia.
Me: You all know the guy just from my description of a bird mask?
Stain: Kiddo, there is only one person in this town wearing something like this and things he is the plague doctor...
Me: Huh?
Well now that he was mentioning it.... the mask did reminded me of the plague doctor but that was just a side note.
