There is one thing that is actually very dangerous. I mean it. Every single bit that I am about to say is the truth:
Curiosity kills the cat!
AND!
Something interesting shit is dangerous.
How do I know this?
MEH.... let's say this is out of experience.
Anyways, back to where I was!
Since I finally was out running around in my vigilante costume, there was not really anything stoping me. However I soon realized that there had to be more than just running around and stopping some thieves or helping others out... it couldn't be just that.
Don't get me wrong.
I liked it but it was.... well..... the same over and over again.... aka boring.... very boring.
The villains were quite predictable and every single one was mocking me because of my short heights. Tonight was no different.
The night air was cool and crisp as I leaped from rooftop to rooftop, my eyes scanning the city streets below. Dressed in Stains over the top genius outfit that concealed my identity, I moved with practiced stealth.
That was the start.... I didn't think that it would get any better but it started out to get more and more interesting the more the night continued.
At first there were no signs of trouble, no cries for help, just the usual hum of the city settling into its nightly routine. I sighed, feeling a mix of relief and frustration..... in fact... one too many time tonight. It was good that no one was in danger, but I felt useless without something to do and I felt restless because I was preparing a backup story and the perfect alibi for months now!
Me: (mumbling) Guess it's just a quiet night. Maybe I should call it quits and head home.....
As I prepared to head back, I noticed something unusual out of the corner of my eye. Two police officers were standing near a convenience store, one of them looking particularly familiar. I squinted, trying to get a better look without drawing attention to myself.
Me: (Mumbling) Is that the Detective from the other day? What's he doing here?
I crouched lower, using the shadows to my advantage as I observed them. The detective was talking to the other officer, his expression serious. I couldn't hear their conversation from my vantage point, but I could tell something was up.
Maybe there's more going on tonight than I thought.
Curiosity getting the better of me, I decided to follow them discreetly. Keeping my distance, I moved silently across the rooftops, my eyes never leaving the pair. They walked through the quiet streets, stopping occasionally to check something on a handheld device.
What are they looking for?
It doesn't seem like a routine patrol.
They do seem a bit nervous.... I wonder what this is all about?
My heart raced with a mixture of excitement and curiosity. I had to be careful not to get too close or do anything that might reveal my presence but other than that, I should be good to go and prepared enough to follow them. The city lights cast long shadows, providing enough cover as I trailed them. They didn't make it hard to begin with. Sometimes I wondered if these people were actually trained professionals or if Stain's training was just too good to make me think that way.
They eventually stopped in front of an old warehouse. The detective signaled to his partner, and they both drew their weapons, moving cautiously towards the entrance.
WOW
This is serious.
THIS IS ACTUAL SERIOUS!
SHIT IS GONNA GO DOWN!
Should I intervene?
Should I help?
Aww man, I wanna do something as well and not jut watch!
I hesitated, torn between the urge to help and the need to stay hidden. Vigilantes weren't exactly welcomed by the authorities, and getting caught could mean big trouble for me. But I couldn't just stand by if they were walking into a dangerous situation.
As they disappeared into the warehouse, I made up my mind. Keeping to the shadows, I slipped through an open window and quietly made my way inside. The interior was dark and musty, filled with crates and abandoned machinery. I stayed low, moving silently towards the faint sounds of footsteps and hushed voices.
Peeking around a corner, I saw the two officers examining what looked like a stash of stolen goods. By now I could hear their voices. The detective's voice was tense but determined.
Detective: We need to secure this area and call for backup. There might be more around.
The other officer nodded, and they began securing the perimeter. Proops to them for sure. They were risking their lives to keep the city safe, and here I was, an outsider trying to do the same in my own way.... well it the heroes who mostly got the attention and the thanks but the police... man the POLICE was the real deal for sure. They were definitely doing more work than the heroes. I can basically smell and taste this fact.
Maybe I can help without them knowing.
Just need to stay out of sight.
.
.
.
Come to think about it.....
The police mostly does a lot of works...
What if I take some of that?
That might be a plan for the future....
Note to myself... use this piece of information after whatever is gonna go down here.
I decided to keep watch from the shadows, ready to step in if things got out of hand. After all, I might not have the experience but I was trained by Stain and certainly could call for great backup. I never doubted that. I also never doubted the fact that I could escape this situation in any way... even if it means leaving these two behind to come and get them later on.
It wasn't a lot that was going on which made me feel quite disappointed.
They did call for backup.
Backup even came.... well Endeavor was the backup and quite the cops as well. Apparently this warehouse and these people were selling guns illegally. That was all I could hear but I could tell that there was more to it.
Who provided them with this much guns and why?
Why would someone store this many in one place?
Who were they for?
These were questions I am certain that the police was thinking about. There was no way this detective was not working on these questions as well... they couldn't be satisfied with just arresting and getting these weapons now, could they?
