By the love for all the katsudon I had....
The laboratory they were talking about was not easy to find but I managed somehow... the thing is.... I couldn't get into it yet. There were strong security and even the police was not getting close to it at all. I could totally understand why they had this huge mark on the files. Certainly not an easy way but I think I found a way in... it was not the easiest way in for sure. The only troubled thing is... I needed a weeks time to understand that they were transporting dead bodies inside once a week on a friday. It was the first and the last day after I started watching them and twice was certainly no coincident. So I thought third time would be a charm and it just so happens to be today. There was another coincidents hower..... school was about to start and it took me quite long to figure out to go to the police to get some cases.... Unfortunately I am an idiot for that and I should have done that sooner.
More importantly, Endeavor had invited me over to spend time with Shoto and help with school start shopping. It was an unexpected invitation, but one I couldn't turn down. Spending time with Shoto always made me happy.
As I approached the front door, it swung open to reveal Shoto, his usual calm expression softened by a small, welcoming smile. It was even as if he was waiting for me at the doorstaps. This certainly was too good of a timing.
Shoto: Hey, Izu. Come on in.
Me: Hey, Sho! Thanks for inviting me.
That CandyCane stepped aside, and I entered the house, trying to suppress my nerves. Endeavor was standing in the living room, his imposing figure softened by a rare, almost welcoming look. This was really rare especially since I thought he was a villain at our very first meeting... now... well now I could still see why. Nothing really changed exepct me knowing that he is indeed a hero.
Right next to him was our dear granny.
Granny: Ahh my dear grandson! Welcome, come in, come in!
Me: Thank you for having me.
It wasn't Shoto but the granny who led me to the living room, where a variety of snacks were laid out on the coffee table. We sat down, and I could feel the warmth and comfort of being in Shoto's presence... this whole house started to feel more and more like a second home to me.
Shoto: So, Izuku, I was thinking about some theories and I would like your opinion on them.
There it is...
I was wondering when he would start with them....
But then again... Shoto without them is not shoto.
It has it's charm for sure.
I nodded enthusiastically, after all I didn't wanted to ruin his day too early. Shoto was just... well Shoto. He needed this and I was there for him. In return, I was somoene who would often mumble and he would listen and respond to it. Honestly, props to him that he could still follow my mumbling spree.
Me: You mean.... Like, if you could control the temperature precisely, you could create thermal shockwaves or even manipulate the weather in small areas.
Shoto's eyes lit up, clearly pleased with what I was saying. I had a rough idea what he wanted me to say and what he was thinking. Didn't take long to figure him out and it was fun too.
Shoto: Exactly! And I was thinking, what if we could use that principle to develop new techniques? Like creating instant steam clouds for cover or using rapid temperature changes to disorient opponents.
I laughed, caught up in the excitement.
Me: That's brilliant! And maybe we could combine that with some physics principles. Imagine using the heat to create updrafts and then using the cold to stabilize them. We could theoretically create controlled tornadoes!
Shoto's expression brightened further, his usual calm demeanor giving way to genuine excitement.
Shoto: That's a great idea! And we could also...
Endeavor, who had been silently observing our heated conversation, sighed deeply, rubbing his temples. No idea why but I was about to find out for sure.
Endeavor: You two are going to give me a headache.
Granny: Oh but they do fit each other.
Endeavor: Mother, we are supposed to get going.
Granny: Ah but you wouldn't be as bold as to try and steal a precious guest without giving me at least 15 minutes to see them?
Endeavor: It's been more than an hour and they would still go on...
Granny: They are precious childrens. Just leave them be.
Shoto and I exchanged a sheepish glance, realizing we had gotten carried away.
Me: Sorry. We just got a little excited.
Shoto: Yeah,....
Endeavor sighed again but this time he had a smile on his face.
Endeavor: Let's get going then. We have a lot of shopping to do.
We headed out to the shopping district, with Endeavor leading the way. Shoto and I walked side by side. As we walked, Shoto kept glancing at me, clearly trying to say something and it took him really long to actually say anything even just make a sound. I even started thinking to ask him what he wanted to say or why he is looking at me every now and then. Did I had something on myself which I didn't realize yet?
Shoto: Um, Izu... you look really nice today. I mean, you always look nice, but today especially.
I blushed, not used to such compliments from Shoto. There was nothing special about me but somehow his compliment warmed my heart.
Me: Th-thanks, Shoto. You look great too.
Oh my god... I am stammering again...
I should stop with that.
It's not as if I can't talk.
Shoto smiled awkwardly, clearly pleased with my response.
Shoto: Also, I, uh, really admire how you always think of others first. It's... inspiring.
My heart raced at his words, and I felt a warm glow inside.
Me: Thanks, Shoto. That means a lot coming from you.
We continued shopping, picking out school supplies and clothes, all the while exchanging shy smiles and occasional compliments. Shoto's attempts at compliments were clumsy but unique and they definitely had the right tick to make me smile and enjoy them. Quite weird for sure but hey he was a good person.
At one point, Shoto picked up a pair of hero-themed socks and turned to me with a serious expression.
Shoto: Izuku, do you think these socks would enhance my hero costume? They have little flames on them.
I burst out laughing, unable to contain myself.
Me: HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
Where the heck did he come from...
LOL
That's not him!
Damn..
I am dying out of laughter here.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
Me: I think they'd be perfect, Shoto. You'd definitely make a statement with those! BUT how about these with snowflakes for the ice? You could go hald and half.
Endeavor, who had been watching our interaction, sighed deeply but couldn't hide a laugh after hearing what I just said and seeing what I picked up.
Endeavor: HAHAHAHA You two are impossible.
Yeah... this was just the start for sure cause we started picking up random iteems like some baby shoes for endeavor telling him they would fit him, some bunny ears for myself, shoto got a huge lollipop and so on. It was fun running around and just be... well kids!
The fun we had... boy this was one of the best days by far.
