Ally Kyle was a mutant. She couldn't think of a better way to describe herself. She wasn't like her closest friends, as she could touch others without harming them like Rogue and she didn't have the awesome healing ability that Logan had. She didn't even have the ability to change and reshape her appearance like Raven. Ally had the power to teleport and become invisible at will, which could be incredibly useful when it came to eavesdropping, as long as Professor X and Jean Grey weren't involved, as her abilities never stopped the two telepaths from knowing when she was in the room. Despite that, she had come to use her powers wisely and Xavier in particular had taught her well, making her a very talented individual.

Even with her powers, however, Ally did not have an enjoyable childhood like she should have, like most kids did, like most should. Both her parents had come to despise her by the time she was a little girl, not just because of what she was but who she was, which was something she couldn't change even if she wanted to. She had believed herself to be a freak and alone for so long, believing her parents when they told her that she deserved to die without anyone loving her because no one would ever care about her. Then she came to Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters. She arrived and realized she was not nearly as alone as she had come to believe. At the time, she had been barely twelve, but Professor X had taught her that she deserved to be happy and she was loved. With the friendships she had built, it had been slow going, but eventually, she had allowed herself to forget the family that gave her life and chose the people that became the ones that gave her a purpose. They were her family.

Now at age twenty and officially an adult, she was old enough to settle on her own and could control her powers. She chose to stay at the school. This was her home and when Professor X told her that she didn't have to leave if she did not want to, she knew she was not going to go anywhere. These people were all she had and she was not willingly going to leave the only home she had ever known....until she lacked a choice in the matter. Everything was on the line when a man named William Stryker came to the school and every mutant was forced to flee from the place that they should have been safest at.

Ally was running, bare foot, alongside her fellow mutants, ensuring that she remained close to Rogue and Logan as she did; they were the ones she felt the closest to. John and Bobby were with them as well, even if she didn't like John whatsoever. The kid was annoying. She was relieved that she had not ended up on her own but even with her friends with her, felt scared. She wasn't a child, she was capable of handling herself, but that fear remained. The Professor had told her that being scared wasn't something bad, in fact it meant she was still human, but she still despised the fear creeping up in her chest. She sometimes had to remind herself that being a mutant didn't change that she was still human, even if others disagreed.

"Can't you just teleport us somewhere?" Pyro asked impatiently as they walked in the woods.

Ally grimaced when she kicked at a stone that had been abandoned on the forest floor, with her foot to connect with the stone painfully and she gritted her teeth to stop herself from complaining. She was never one to bitch out loud when it came to her problems; the Professor and Rogue were the ones that knew about her past and they were her confidents but John? He was just irritable. "Where would I take us, John, hmm? Besides-"

"She can't just take all of us." Logan answered, walking ahead. "It'll tire her out too much."

He knew that long distance travelling always exhausted her, and that was when she was on her own. She had taken Logan from one side of the school to another to test her powers before and by the time she had done so twice, she felt as if she had ran a marathon. Taking four additional people on top of herself would surely kill her if she tried taking them too far; or her power just wouldn't allow it.
