It was London, 1616 and Klaus Mikaelson couldn't tear his attention away from a girl that didn't seem to even look his way. She was focusing on the work in front of her, her gown oversized and practically hanging off her small frame, the fabric clearly cheap and it was tied at the back, suggesting it had belonged to someone else before it became hers. She was very pretty, a trait that any man could see, but it was the strength in her that he had picked up moments after he saw her. Again and again, he found himself eager to speak with her, to know if she was as much of a survivor that he thought she was. A month had passed since he arrived here with his siblings and each time, he hadn't been able to approach her. It was something he had never had trouble with before.

This girl was different.

He knew that it wouldn't take a lot for their father to find them and Elijah had warned him about the nobleman of the house, who was known for how vile he treated his servants. The last thing he wanted was to pursue this girl and piss off Lord Greyson and in the process, bring Mikael straight to them. He didn't doubt that they could flee again, it was something he was now familiar with, but he didn't want to leave without meeting this girl. Attraction was something he had felt before, but this was more than that. He had met beautiful ladies that had far better looks and had less complicated consequences should he choose to go after them. This was something else entirely.

Running from Mikael was exhausting but he and his siblings were able to do it without stopping for long so far. Finn and Kol were both currently residing in coffins, although his younger brother had only been daggered for three years while his older one was coming up to his fifth hundred. The revived Originals were in London, temporarily staying with Eddard Greyson and his family, pretending to be travelers that were merely there for a short time. It was clear very early on that Eddard was a strict man, who isolated his family to those on his grounds, which was proven when Klaus, Elijah and Rebekah befriended his children. Lord Greyson had four young daughters and an older son, one that Rebekah became quite smitten with and they formed a romantic relationship over the course of the last five weeks. Klaus would've snapped the neck of Jakub Greyson, the heir to his father's estate, if it hadn't been for his consistent distraction.

The eldest of Eddard's daughters was named Thalia and she was nearing her eighteenth birthday, something she had told the newcomers a few days ago, as if they would care. She was incredibly intelligent for a woman and like her only brother, was incredibly attractive, something that would've captured Klaus's attention should he not be drawn towards the servant girl. The youngest of Eddard's children was a mere nine years old and seemed content in remaining out of their way, unlike the rest of her sisters, all of whom seemed to want to speak to Klaus and Elijah in particular as much as they could. Lord Greyson had approved of the possible match between Klaus and his daughter, but he wasn't interested in Thalia, as his eyes always went towards the brunette across the hall.

"You should perhaps divert your eyes," Elijah appeared behind his brother before elegantly moving to sit beside him, having been requested for breakfast with the family, even if no one had yet to take their seats. Other than the girl whose name he did not know, the only one outside of them inside the breakfast hall was another servant, a young man, that was arranging the chairs for the incoming guests.

Klaus refused to look away from the girl. "Why don't you make me, brother? I am doing no harm."

"I do not believe Lord Greyson and his family would enjoy seeing the way you're watching their servant." Elijah stated simply. "She is merely a human girl, Niklaus-"

"Says the one currently rebelling by sleeping with a friend of Thalia Greyson's." Klaus snorted and Elijah turned away from him, referring to another Lady, Anne, that came to the estate regularly to spend time with Thalia, who he learnt that that she had grown up with. "You're merely using the girl, giving her false hopes of marriage and children-"
