(Not going to lie, the gore here is kinda disgusting to imagine...Also, Happy 2025!)

Angel felt as if the ground beneath them suddenly disappeared as everything continued to get darker and darker.

Then they were quite literally floating in the darkness. It was silent.

"James?!" Angel yelled, after a good minute or two of eerie silence. There was no response, until a laugh echoed through the darkness.

The laugh was almost child like. Angel tried to turn their head, but ended up pathetically flailing around in the air.

Leaving Angel to now float with their legs and arms under them. They sighed.

Another laugh echoed.

Angel groaned. This stupid place was literally mocking them.

Then a bright light flashed, Angel covered their eyes so they wouldn't be blinded. Then their body crashed down to a hard surface.

Angel cursed as they slowly got up, holding their left elbow. Which had started bleeding on impact. The white of their lab coat was now stained red.

They looked around, only to see that they were in some sort of cage. There were bars around Angel and a concrete wall was a few feet away from that.

There were no doors or windows, and the ground beneath matched the wall as it was a cold and slightly damp concrete.

Angel sat there, not really knowing what to do next. About two hours passed by in complete silence.

Angel had positioned themselves to lean against the cold metal of the bars. They had also ripped the lower part of their lab coat to make a make-shift bandage for their elbow.

The room was boring and dull, hours seemed to take days. Leaving the mind to wonder.

James...was he even real? Was he ever real? Am I just going crazy? Angel kept repeating over and over in their head.

Angel knew that whatever was happening wasn't normal. That was clear as soon as Angel was floating in the sudden darkness.

Plus, it had confirmed Angel's suspicions that something wasn't right with the situation they were in.

Something happened to James as well. Angel remembered the feeling of missing their dear friend while they were right next to him.

That's definitely some evidence that Angel's memories were gone. James had also said that they were one of the fastest people to figure it out.

But figure what out? That something was wrong? Plus, the mention of other people being stripped of their memories and forced to go through this was interesting, to say the least.

"How does it feel?" A sudden soft voice said, coming from directly behind Angel.

Angel jumped back away from the bars with a yelp, turning to see the small boy from before standing behind them.

His body was still burned, but now parts of his flesh had been ripped off. Leaving blood and organs to freeze in the cold of the room.

"What?" Angel asked, staring at the boy in horror.

"How does it feel to be on the other end? Awful? Scary? Come on, I thought you were supposed to be smart." The boy said in a whisper like voice, he tilted his head.

More blood trailed off of his neck, and an organ in his throat began to hang out. The boy was unbothered, but Angel grimaced.

"I- I am scared. Are you...okay?" Angel admitted, they positioned themselves into a more comfortable position.
