"Let's go!" Dogday called, already going around the corner. The rest of the group walked calmly through the hallway, making sure not to step on the blood trail.
"Dogday, can't you calm down just a little? I want to find Catnap too, but we can't just rush into this." Crafty sweetly chimed in.
Dogday's jogging slowed as he turned on his heel, and began going backwards.
"But, he could be dying!"
"I'm sure he's fine!" Hoppy countered, rolling her eyes. Dogday raised an eyebrow at her, crossing his arms.
"Then why is there so much blood?" He asked.
"I- I don't know! He's hurt so maybe he just crawled away, and that blood is from his previous injuries!"
"It does make sense," Poppy agreed, "By the way, Angel, how did Catnap get hurt like that? The last time I heard of him uninjured was when you were facing him off in the bunker."
Angel gulped, looking to the floor.
"Wait, facing him off in the bunker? Was that before we met up with you and you were dragging his unconscious body down the hallway?" Crafty asked.
(Out of context this story would be wild...)
"Dragging- what?" Poppy exclaimed, turning to Angel, her mouth hanging open.
Angel let out a nervous chuckle, rubbing the back of their neck. "It got complicated at that point. Catnap was hurt and needed help, but he was too big for me to carry. So, I ended up have to drag him out of the room. It worked out though!"
"Worked out? He's currently missing. And while I'm not for supporting Catnap, at this very moment, he is somewhere out there, unable to walk. Can we mention how many enemies this guy has?" Hoppy added.
"Enemies?"
Crafty sighed, "Catnap hurt a lot of people, and with that people began to hate him. A lot."
"Doey is a prime example of this. He hates that cat with everything in his being. Trust me when I tell you, if he is ever nice to Catnap I'd think either the world was ending or that man's got something awful in store for the feline."
"Wait, Doey?" Angel asked, unfamiliar with the name. How many toys are in this stinking place.
"Oh, it's not important. You'll know it when you see him." Poppy giggled, covering her mouth with a small hand.
Dogday stared at her, "Wait, is Doey someone I should know?" He asked.
The group turned to stare at him, well all but Crafty. Bomb started squeaking up a storm, as if trying to explain how it was stupid he didn't know.
"I was in that Playhouse for years." Dogday explained, without the others even needing to ask the question. A slight nod and realization spread through the crowd.
Dogday turned to Angel, raising an eyebrow and nodding to the others. Angel shrugged.
"Oh, look at that." Hoppy commented, pointing to the floor. The group looked down, silently praying they didn't step on any blood.
The trail made an abrupt turn, going to the left and heading down the hallway. A door was at the end of the hallway, dimly lit. There was some sort of blob, multiple blobs, around the door.
"Dear lord, what is that?" Hoppy asked, taking a step back and covering her nose. The smell that hadn't been able to reach them before suddenly ambushed the group, making some of them gag.
"Ew!" Crafty whisper-shouted, covering her mouth as she hunched over.
"Bodies." Angel whispered, staring at the blobs.
"Are you sure? There just so many..." Poppy said, a disgusted frown on her face.
"What- or who, could have done this?" Dogday butted in. What if Catnap's in that pile?
"Well, Catnap's gone and he's always been a good hunter..." Hoppy suggested.
"What? Are you crazy? Catnap could barely move!" Dogday defended, throwing his arms out.
"Yeah, but I don't think he's exactly harmless!"
"What are you talking about?"
"He bit Angel. The minute he woke up. There's still that hunting instinct, and he hasn't eaten since Angel dragged him in with us. Maybe your 'little cat' got hungry."
"If I may, Catnap also had that army of minis with him. Which in large groups could cause something like this fairly easily." Poppy added, putting a finger in the air as she gazed down at the critters from Kissy's shoulder.
Dogday narrowed his eyes at her and looked to the floor, his foot tapping. Angel, meanwhile, took a step towards the door. They clicked a small button on their grabpack, the little trigger making a small sound.
A beam of light shot out from the left shoulder, providing enough light to see the ground clearly. Angel lifted their head, bringing the light to the door.
They gagged.
The door was, as Angel suspected, surrounded by bloody bodies of smaller toys. A few minis lay in the pile motionless. All of the toys' eyes were completely unresponsive to the light.
"That's...nice." Hoppy commented, grimacing at the sight. Angel took a step closer to the door, then another, until they were right in front of it.
They looked down at the bodies, most looking relatively fresh. Another tuff of purple fur sat near the door, but this time a blue tuff rested not too far away.
"Purple and blue?" Angel whispered to themself before turning to look at the rest of the group.
"Is anyone purple and blue?" Angel called.
"Purple and blue?" Hoppy repeated, looking to Kissy. She just shrugged in response.
"You'll have to be more specific." Poppy said, tilting her head.
"Does any bigger body have purple and blue fur?" Angel specified, glancing into the shadows. Was...that a pair of eyes? No...I'm just losing it.
The group turned to each other, all wondering the same thing.
"I don't think so." Poppy answered after the group came to no conclusion.
"Really? Then why are those two fur colors so close together? I mean, I guess Catnap could be one, but who's the other?"
"Huggy is dead. Bubba's blue, but he doesn't have fur. Candy didn't have fur either, and we think she's dead either way. Did anyone else have blue fur?" Hoppy said, looking around the room.
The others started discussing the problem, while Angel looked into the shadows. They suddenly froze, their body going rigid at the sight. Guess I'm not going crazy. Those are eyes! They thought, before a large figure dropped to the ground in front on them.
Trapping them against the wall.
(Me: Sitting in the dark and suddenly hears thunder. Also, can you think of anyone who's purple and blue?)
