Puvi
TW firm, the well-reputed private organization where I've been working for three years. After completing the CA course with no arrears and promising marks, I signed up for a small-scale industry and worked there as an auditor. Simultaneously, I continued my job hunting in other famous firms and applied to all the places I found convenient.
Post two years of experience, I landed a job in the TW organization, and only then was I able to meet all my financial needs properly. Recently, I was promoted as the senior accountant and it further increased my salary. I was pleased, I didn't have to rely on anyone no more.
Especially my father.
Each time he sends the inadequate maintenance, he orders that I shouldn't expect more. Given that the woman who gave birth to me wastes the money in buying alcohol, I'd to steal some cash to handle my needful expenses.
Even though the family who generously took me in would be more than willing to look after all my necessities, I didn't want to take advantage of their love. They already have three kids of their own to take care of and I was already consuming three time meals from their home.
Some days, I would just sleep without having dinner because it was distressing, disheartening, and embarrassing to have a mother of my own but still no hands to feed.
As I began growing and understanding the reality more clearly, I became almost depressed. If not for the five people who showed me their care openly, I would have been a mess. I would have walked on the wrong path. Fortunately, they were there to guide me in the right way. They raised me well and the trust they had in me played an important role in building me as the person I am at present.
...yet there was something I missed deeply.
The love of a woman, a certain woman.
It rose when I was a teen when the wide-eyed girl sneaked into my home with food to feed me. I might have hated women for how uncaring my mother was. But it was just her. The other women I had in my life were all lovely and had me not possess a narrow mind.
Specifically...Kaarmugil.
It might be due to my loud mother that I have got a thing for quiet women. They ensured peace. Kaarmugil was one such girl ever since I met her. Her silence and the genuine affection she showcases were a treat to my thirsty heart.
When I would refuse to have food from her home, Dhana, the little devil would go crazy and corner me to have the same. When I would still deny it, the childish one would throw me an angry look and slam her room door shut. Unlike her, Kaarmugil would observe everything, and at late night, when everyone was asleep, she brought me food and would feed me.
She understood the turmoil without me having to blurt them out and little by little, she stole my heart entirely.
I was interested in her...and waited until she graduated school to approach her. I'd proposed to her but she answered with her quietude at first. And then...
"Love...how long would you love me?" She had asked, her wide eyes were dull. "The longer I live, Mugil," I'd said, earning a small smile from her.
"I don't have a solid response to your proposal now, Puvi. I wanted to settle first...I want to set a career for myself and be independent before I love someone," She'd uttered softly, exhibiting the reason why I love her. It had me fall for her more.
"Okay then, I'll wait. Come to me when you get a job, and we'll get married, what say?" I'd queried her and she nodded in approval.
"...yes, we'll," and we exchanged a smile and I embraced her before she left to pursue her higher education in Bangalore. She's completed her bachelor's and master's in aeronautical engineering course there and very soon, she's going to land a job.
I'm happy for her and excited to see her passion come true. We don't speak much through mobile like lovers do, but we check in on each other every thrice a week. Yet it felt more than enough.
She'd called me the previous night and said she'd given an interview at one of the aerospace companies in Bangalore. She's confident that she will be recruited and I'm more than delighted for her.
This means that we'll get married pretty soon and I'm so fucking contented. I will have Mugil all to myself within a short while...
I was more lively today and my colleagues were throwing me suspicious looks.
At late 5.30 pm in the evening, I reach my apartment and toss the bag on the couch. As though the devil was waiting for my return, just as I begin to step towards my room, the main door unlocks. It must be Dhana.
...An immature one still clinging to me as If she's a ten-year-old kid. She's grown, at least bodywise but her silly character is still the same. She has always tormented me with her flirty behavior and so far, I'd been gentle with her as possible. However, her attitude began alerting me recently and I'd to break her heart to pour some sense into her head.
This petty infatuation she has with me...she has to get over it for I'm to become her brother-in-law soon. And I'm sure she would move on once she gets to know that I'm in love with Kaarmugil. Our love is a secret one...and it was under Mugil's desire that I decided to keep it hidden until we became official.
And here this little devil, without knowing the truth has been torturing me, assuming her crush to be some kind of divine love.
How can you call it love when the other party doesn't reciprocate it!? To make her understand this, I've to insert a brain in her empty head.
"...Puvi," I snap out of my thoughts and pass an uninterested glance at her.
Woah, wait...
What the fuck is she wearing?
