jeonghan pov : 

jeonghan : yes. she is okay.

mom : don't do something crazy again. as her older brother you should be a good role model to her. don't teach her to lie to me. understand?

jeonghan : yes mom. when are going to stop scolding me? it's been more than a week since then.

mom : i am not scolding you. 

jeonghan : anyway. bye enjoy your vacation.

i rubbed my temple in frustration. this was one of the reasons i shipped my parents to japan. i can't bear these constant taunts as if i have failed as a brother when i didn't even do anything.

i wasn't the one who met jihye that day. mingyu is lucky scoups was there to save his ass.

there's another reason i wanted them out of the way.

joshua came into my room with a bag of chips in his hands. he sat on my bed but didn't offer it to me. as expected of mr. self proclaimed gentleman.

jeonghan : aren't you going to share?

joshua : i am not planning to.

he continued munching loudly and my headache was getting worse. 

jeonghan : give me some too

i whined feeling annoyed. joshua chuckled at my reaction before finally offering it to me. suddenly i remembered the conversation with jihye earlier.

jeonghan : shua, when did i tell you that jihye volunteered in a cat shelter.

his hand paused midair. i phrased the question this way intentionally because the answer to 'when' is never. 

joshua bit his bottom lip.

joshua : i just guessed she did. i was lucky. 

that's what i said to jihye but i know very well that it cannot be true. but i also know that joshua isn't the kind to do anything wrong. if he isn't telling me there must be a reason.

jeonghan : okay.

even though there were a lot of things i wanted to say, i decided to let it go. for now.

flashback    joshua pov :

jihye : we should start with what you know about me?

i tilted my head and smiled at her. it's an interesting question because whatever i know about her is so disconnected, she almost feels like two different people. mostly, i know her as jeonghan's sister. but there's something i know about yoon jihye too.

joshua : you like to volunteer at cat shelters right?

jihye looked surprised. there wasn't even a hint of recognition on her face.

she doesn't remember at all.

maybe i am the only one still stuck in that moment. i shouldn't bring this up again.

jihye pov : 

i came downstairs stretching my arms above my head lazily. i saw jeonghan and joshua playing on their phones in the living room. 

guess who said he was gonna spend time with me?

i tried my best to ignore joshua who was wearing a white sweatshirt that looked so cute on him. wait.. i think that's not how you ignore people.
