jihye pov:

today i am the politest kid in the world.

i waited at the front door as jeonghan returned with my parents. they came in hand in hand and i cringed internally as dad winked at mom and she blushed before leaving his hand to hug me.

mom: how are you? did jeonghan take care of you? how did you get sick?

jihye: relax mom. i am good and jeonghan took care of me very well.

she eyed me up and down as if checking for injuries. and when she was done with her inspection we could finally enter the house. jeonghan glanced at me and i could see he was nervous. mom is good at noticing things. there's a high chance she will notice that something has changed.

joshua greeted them a bit too cheerfully and i was panicking. mom hugged him and dad started asking him if he looked cooler after returning from japan.

everything seems normal.

dad: did you get close to jihye?

joshua looked at me awkwardly as if he was asking me what to say. 

jihye: of course. we all had fun.

jeonghan: too much fun

i shot a glare at jeonghan and he averted his eyes. 

dad: you must have got the experience of having a little sister.

dad and mom laughed while the three of us froze. feeling tensed and disgusted. suddenly jeonghan patted joshua's back so hard that he flinched.

jeonghan: it's like she is hong jihye and not yoon jihye. right shua?

what the fuck?

didn't we agree to not tell the parents? i feel like joshua provoked jeonghan when they were alone and now he is taking revenge.

mom: oh! she feels like a real sister now?

mom smiled warmly at joshua and he forced a smile back. i am gonna die if this keeps on happening. ewww.

dad: why aren't you saying anything?

joshua: i am just really happy to see you.

mom: aww. anyway, let's eat i am hungry.

i could tell both joshua and jeonghan were flustered as mom walked away suddenly. she gets moody when she is hungry. dad patted joshua's arm and they both went to their room leaving the three of us alone in the living room.

joshua: jeonghan what was that?

jeonghan shrugged as if he was innocent. joshua looked really pissed and i just looked between them nervously. i don't want to get stuck between them. i started walking to the stairs slowly so they don't notice.

joshua: jihye knock some sense into your brother.

i grinned awkwardly as i was caught trying to slip away. jeonghan folded his hands in front of his chest and by the way he bit the inside of his cheek i already knew this wasn't going well.

jeonghan: don't bring her into this

joshua: i don't know how it escaped your notice but she is right in the middle of all this. 

jeonghan: i gave you the chance to get close to my sister. it isn't my job to help you impress my parents.

joshua rolled his eyes in disbelief. i was surprised by jeonghan's change in mood but i could tell by joshua's reaction that it wasn't that sudden. they must have fought or something. even scoups isn't here today to mediate since he left in the morning.
