Week 1
At lunchtime, Kokona and a girl with long, teal blue twin-tails magically appeared outside my classroom and rushed to my side just as Aso was trying to approach me. They locked arms with me, and within a blink of an eye, I was out of the classroom and ushered out into the hallway just as Aru was running up to my classroom. "Athena!" he called out.
The girls next to me paused and we turned to face him. Kokona eyed him, then asked me, "Do you know him?"
I scoffed. "That's my brother, Aru."
"Oh!" Kokona and the teal haired girl straightened. "Hi! I'm Kokona Haruka. I met Athena this morning before class."
"And I'm Saki Miyu," the teal haired girl introduced herself. "It's nice to meet both of you."
I smiled. "I'm Athena Akiyama, and this is my brother, Aru Akiyama. Nice to meet you, Saki."
Aru bowed respectfully. "It's nice to meet you ladies." He shot them a wink, and both girls giggled, while I rolled my eyes. Ever the ladies' man, Aru couldn't resist charming the girls.
"Well, we're headed to the roof to have lunch," Kokona said. "Feel free to join us."
He held up his bento box in response. "I've already got my lunch. What are we waiting for?"
The girls giggled again, and I rolled my eyes... again.
The four of us headed to the rooftop with our lunches in hand, where we sat with a view of the plaza below. "Gosh," Kokona said as we all sat down and opened our bento boxes, "I can't believe you got placed in class 2-2 with three hot club presidents!"
"Yeah, me either!" Saki added. "Seriously, I'm so jealous."
I giggled. "Is it really that big of a deal?"
"Yes!" They both exclaimed.
Aru and I exchanged glances with raised eyebrows. "Okay, okay, so it is, then," I said with a chuckle.
Kokona's energy dampened. "Oh, but I totally forgot... there are also four delinquents in that class, too. And one of them is the delinquent leader."
I hummed at that, while Aru perked up instantly. That explains the three boys with facial scars. But I didn't see a fourth one...
Saki also became serious. "Yeah, you'll want to avoid them. They're pretty scary."
I shrugged. "I'm not scared, but I wasn't planning on talking to them anyway."
"Good. You shouldn't. I don't even want to tell you their names — just thinking of their names gives me shivers," Kokona said, and true to her word, she shivered. In an attempt to pick herself back up, she said, "But anyway! That brown-haired boy, with the green kerchief? That's Amao, he's the cooking club leader. And the purple-haired guy next to him was Kizano, he's the drama club leader, but he was late to school this morning, which is why he wasn't rehearsing with us."
"Ah, I thought that's who they might've been," I replied. Staring at Kokona's purple hair and recalling Kizano's, I wondered if everyone in the drama club shared the same color. If so, then I wouldn't be joining that club if dying my hair was a condition to be a drama club member — no way was I throwing out my hair care routine to dye my hair; after all the effort I'd put into finding the perfect products, I didn't want to restart to find products that were color-friendly.
