Week 11
Come Sunday, I was released from the hospital after recuperating well and able to return to school Monday. Upon my arrival, students clapped at the sight of me, and by now, I'd gotten used to everyone treating me like the Goddess of Akademi — just as Kokona had said I would.
The house my father purchased for me was nice, and within walking distance from school. It was nicely furnished, and just as he'd promised, I had a personal bodyguard follow me around, as well as a handful of maids to help me around the house as much as I needed. They all insisted on calling me Miss Akiyama, no matter how much I complained that they were allowed to call me by name. I eventually had to order them to call me by name, which they seemed uncomfortable with at first, but warmed up to the idea rather quickly.
As I mentioned, when I stepped into school Monday morning, one by one each student applauded my entrance, happy to see me return to Akademi. Surprisingly, the first person to approach me was Taro Yamada.
"Athena-sama!" he exclaimed. "I'm so glad you're back, we were all worried sick." After a moment of hesitation, he asked, "Umm, that thing you were trying to tell me the day I confessed to you... you were trying to warn me about Ayano Aishi, weren't you?"
I nodded grimly. "I was. I'm sorry, Senpai. She was obsessed with you."
He nodded. "I know now why everyone kept disappearing from my life..." He sighed. "I did eventually find someone..."
I perked up. "Oh?"
"Yeah, it's Uekiya Engeika," he said, a shy smile on his face. "After... well, you know, after that, I joined the gardening club to try and take my mind off it. Uekiya, the gardening club president, helped me out a lot, and, well..." He blushed, still smiling. "We ended up falling for each other. She confessed last Friday, and now she's my girlfriend."
I grinned. "Senpai, that's awesome! I'm happy for you."
He smiled and nodded. "Thank you."
"Senpai!"
A girl with a flower in her hair called out to him and approached, linking her arm with his, a bright smile on her face. "You didn't forget about meeting me this morning, right?"
He shook his head, beaming at her. "I'd never. Shall we go?"
"Mhm!" Then, turning to me, Uekiya said, "It's nice to see you at school again, Athena-sama. Everyone was worried, but I'm glad to see you're well."
I nodded. "Thank you, Uekiya-chan. Have a good day, you two."
"We will!"
After changing my shoes, I was about to head into the plaza, when a girl with silver hair and stormy gray eyes approached me. I blinked when I recognized her. "Megami Saiko? You're attending school in person now?"
Megami nodded. "Ever since Ayano's arrest, I have been at Akademi in person. My father didn't want me attending school while she was... active." A dark expression was on her face as she said that, but before I could question it, she continued, "In any case, it's good to see you doing better. I hope... we can be friends?"
There was a shy smile on Megami's face that I couldn't resist sharing. Megami Saiko wanted to be friends with me? "Well, who am I to say no? I'd love to be friends with you, Megami."
