Week 2

Monday came quickly, and unlike most weeks where Friday felt far away, this particular Friday felt like it was rushing toward me like a train: audition day. I had to commit myself to audition for the part of Belle, and if I didn't get the part...

Well, I didn't even want to think of the rage that would fill my father to the brim.

On Saturday, I told my parents I was going out since Osorō insisted I spend the day with him. We did some light shopping, where he decided to buy me some makeup, insisting that the lip color he chose would look good on me. Later, we went to a cafe, where I tried it on and was extremely satisfied with the results, and a smirking Osorō mocked me by saying, "I told ya so."

He wore a mask the entire time we were out, just in case anyone from school noticed us. With the mask concealing his resting bitch face and the scar on his cheek, practically every girl around us swooned, since his piercing gaze and black outfit made him look like some sort of rock star. Scrutinizing him closely, I supposed, with a blush, I couldn't blame those girls. Osorō Shidesu was quite the attractive guy to look at.

Then, Sunday, I didn't want to be at home, so I snuck out and left for Shisuta Town, wandering around until Osorō asked where I was. After sending him my location, he scolded me when he arrived and said something about letting him know when I went out so he could join me.

We decided to watch a movie together, but at first, it was difficult to come to an agreement since our tastes in movie genres didn't match up. Osorō didn't like romance, and I didn't like horror. We eventually found a middle ground in comedy, but when it turned out to be a rom-com, he demanded we see a horror movie after that movie ended to even it out. Reluctantly, I agreed — and at least he was kind enough to let me cling to his arm whenever I got scared.

It was an interesting compromise — something I liked in exchange for something he liked.

The thought made me giggle.

I opened my shoe locker with a small smile. The new makeup Osorō helped me pick out was a small boost to my confidence, even with the throbbing pain in my cheek.

"Hey!" Aso called out to me as he approached. "How was your weekend? What did you do?"

"Good morning, Aso," I greeted. "I hung out with my friend the entire weekend. We went shopping on Saturday, and watched movies on Sunday."

"Oh, cool! It doesn't surprise me that a social butterfly like you would make so many friends so quickly," he added, winking. "So, who'd you spend the weekend with?"

"I spent it with—" I paused. I probablyyyy shouldn't tell him I spent the whole weekend with the leader of the delinquent gang... "—Kokona Haruka."

Just my luck, behind me, a familiar voice answered, "Yes?"

I flinched and turned to face the purple-haired girl. Aso recognized her and said, "Wow, what timing! Kokona, good morning! Athena was just telling me how you spent the weekend shopping and watching movies."

Kokona tilted her head. "But I—"

I flung my arm around her shoulder, instantly stopping her. "Yeah! Don't you remember? We went to the makeup shop and that one cafe Saturday, and then we went to the theater on Sunday!"
