21 - The Party & Debut

Week 4 (Weekend)

Party day!

The party technically started at 7:30pm — but the Akiyama family wouldn't be arriving until 8pm, where we would be announced upon arrival. My parents would be announced first, then Aru, and then... me.

But I wasn't JUST going to be announced, I thought with a grin, as my maids got me ready for my big debut. I was going to enter the venue with a mic in hand, as my debut music played. And then, just before I would be allowed to join my party, I'd have a wardrobe change and I'd be announced again.

My hair was done in an elegant, low-style — my hair was mostly down, with my bangs curled to perfection, and two thick braids were tied into a low-ponytail, held together by a red bow with a red gemstone. My makeup was done with gold and red glitter eyeshadow, and a red lip gloss look that made my lips shiny and glossy.

My debut outfit was a dark red bodice that was incredibly revealing, and almost looked like lingerie. I had gold gloves, and a high gold necklace that was heavily layered. I had one strand of fabric in the front that went to the floor for dramatic flair, and nude heels.

After my debut song, though, I had an entirely different outfit.

I couldn't wait.

And thankfully, I barely had to. My look took so long for my maids to settle on, that by the time I was perfectly done, I was being ushered into the Akiyama family's silver limo with the rest of my family.

My mom and Aru sat next to me, fussing over me excitedly. My mom said, "Athena, I'm so, so proud of you. You're going to do amazing tonight, and you look fabulous!"

"What Mom said," Aru said, grinning at me. "You look good, sis. And you're gonna sing beautifully, I know it."

I smiled at them. "Thank you, guys."

All eyes turned to my father.

Father gulped, seeming uncomfortable with the undivided attention of his family, and hesitated before saying, "Athena, you look beautiful. And I'm proud of the work I've seen in the studio... good luck with your debut."

I straightened, a proud smile overcoming me. It was a genuine compliment from my father, one that he'd clearly thought of on the spot, but still, a genuine compliment. "Thank you, Father."

He managed to smile, too. "You're welcome."

The limo arrived at our destination, and I stood behind Aru, anxiously twiddling my thumb around my red and gold microphone as the DJ announced our arrival, starting with my parents.

Aru took the opportunity to grab my hand and squeeze it. "You got this, sis. You've got nothing to worry about."

I inhaled and smiled. "Thanks, Aru Akiyama."

"Of course, Athena Akiyama. Now, go tell the world who ATHENA is."

He winked at me, then turned as he was announced and entered the venue, leaving me alone. I took a deep breath, lifting my microphone as I could hear the start of my debut song, Latte, started.
