Week 4 (Weekend)

A charged silence filled the air as Osorō set down my bag on a chair at the counter bar, and then headed to the couch to sit next to me. We stared at each other in silence for a moment before he cleared his throat and said, "You can have my room and sleep there for... however long you're here for." I nodded, and he continued, "Tomorrow, I'll stay here from school with you, and I'll make some breakfast for ya."

"You can cook?"

He scoffed and gestured to the kitchen. "Did ya think all that new shiny stuff was just for show?"

I shook my head, smiling. "No, I just honestly think it's kinda hot you can cook for yourself — and me."

His cheeks tinted a dusty red. "R-right, gonna have to get used to the fact that you actually..."

"What, like you back? Like, a lot."

"Enough to go out with me?"

I gulped. "Like... be your girlfriend?"

He shrugged. "Yeah, why not?"

"I don't know... what if—"

"—your father finds out?" Osorō rolled his eyes. "So we date in secret. Only tell ya brother about us, so he can help out."

I sighed. "I tried that with Kyle, too."

He stiffened at that, then sighed. "Just... please, can we try it? I really don't wanna see ya flirtin' with that sports jerk again."

"You just really want me to be your girlfriend, huh?" I jokingly flipped some hair off my shoulder, but Osorō leaned in and cupped my face with one hand, moving my face towards his so I was making unavoidable eye contact with him, and so I'd give him my undivided attention.

It worked — I found myself clinging to his every word as he spoke.

"Yes," Osorō said, "I really do, Athena. I want you to be my girlfriend."

I inhaled sharply, and dumbly could only bring myself to whisper, "Okay."

He kissed me, and it lingered even after he stood up and buried his face into his hands. "Okay," he said. "Sorry, I also just really can't stand seeing you and Aso flirting before class every day. Can you stop doing that already?"

I nodded. "Yeah, I'm sorry. I didn't realize I did that, to be honest. I guess... I kinda have a flirty personality."

"Yeah, no shit," he chuckled. "Thank you."

I giggled. "Of course."

"Are you hungry?"

"Huh?"

"Have you eaten anything today?" Osorō specified.

I thought about it. "I don't think so."

"Whaddya like, steak?"

My eyes lit up. "You can make steak?"

He grinned. "Hell yeah, how do you like ya steak?"

"Rare?"

"Hell yeah, me too... but since it's late, how about I make it for dinner tomorrow? I'll just make something quick for now."

Seven minutes later, we sat on the couch, and Osorō moved the coffee table closer so we could place our plates there. He had coasters for our sodas, and turned on the TV to some comedy channel that was playing Friends.

"Ooh!" I perked up instantly, and Osorō laughed.

"I knew ya'd like this show," he chuckled.

"Duh, it's a classic sit-com," I argued.

He shrugged. "Hey, never said I hated it. Haven't seen much, but I don't hate it. It's funny."

"Well, we're watching it with dinner."

He chuckled again and held his hands up in surrender. "Yes, Miss Akiyama."

I giggled and turned to face him. He took the opportunity to kiss me, then took a bite of his food. We watched the show, occasionally eating and joking around when we found something funny.

When the episode ended, Osorō turned to me. "Do you need any help getting upstairs?" I merely nodded, so he brought his arms underneath me and picked me up, bridal style, and carried me up the stairs. The entire time, I closed my eyes, my face hot.

Eventually, he was setting me down on his bed and bringing the blanket over me. Then, he sat down next to me and offered, "Hey, if ya wanna smoke before bed...?"

He pointed to his bong on his nightstand, and I shrugged. "Maybe a little to sleep, why not?"

He turned on a bluetooth speaker, connecting it to his phone, and shut the door to his room, locking it and turning some music on. Then he passed me the bong, already packed. "I packed it before I came to get ya, because I was gonna do my bedtime smoke if you didn't reply."

"Makes sense."

He lit the bowl for me, and then took a hit after I inhaled mine. He carefully pulled me onto his lap, being mindful of my injuries, then handed the bong back to me and lit the bowl for me again. I laid against his chest after he finished the rest of it, and set the bowl back on the nightstand.

"Can I ask you something?"

"Yeah, of course," Osorō replied. "What's up?"

I blushed as I thought about it. "Can you... stay with me, tonight?"

He blinked, and then it was his turn to blush. "You mean like... sleep in bed with you?" When I nodded, his blush darkened, but he nodded, too. "Yeah, sure, I-I can do that."

"Okay."

"Okay."

Osorō stared at me before he leaned in to kiss me. I wrapped my arms around his neck as I kissed him back, and then, just as suddenly as he started kissing me, he stopped and sighed. "Man, I can't do this right now... we might as well go to bed before I get too carried away."

"Carried away—" I started, then stopped myself when I realized what he meant with a dark blush. "Y-yeah, probably for the better, actually..."

Silence. Then, he spoke softly:

"Well, maybe a little won't hurt."

His lips pressed against mine again, and for a moment we kissed like that, sitting upright. Then, he gently and slowly lowered me down onto his bed, lips still attached to mine, his body hovering over me. His lips kissed down to my neck, nibbling and biting my neck, leaving all kinds of marks, as if he were marking his territory — as if he were letting everyone know I wasn't available anymore.

I knew I'd have to cover them up with makeup whenever I went back to school.
