Third Person POV

As usual, Jonas is busy signing all the proposed projects inside his office. His hardworking side is kicking in again, but there's something different in his aura today. The coldness and seriousness don't leave him, but he's more patient, and a slight kindness is noticeable.

"Sir, here's your coffee." His secretary carefully placed the mug on top of the table, afraid that it would spill.

"Thanks." He answered without looking at him. He is not expecting that his boss will thank him for it because he does not care at all.

"Is there anything else you want to say? Do you want a cash advance, or do you want a break? Maybe three days are enough for you?" Seryoso nitong tanong.

"N-No, Sir.

Jonas continues his unfinished business while humming his favorite song. He scrolls through his contacts and stops when he finally sees Jaime's name.

He leans back in his recliner while tapping the table with his fingers and biting his lower lip. He's staring at his phone screen with anticipation. He's expecting a call, but he knows it's impossible. What if he were to call instead? He is about to tap the call icon, but he halts when hesitation and nervousness fill his system.

What if he gets mad and prohibits him from seeing his son? He sighs deeply and turns off his phone. Ibinalik niya ito sa kaniyang bulsa.

"Damn it!" He cursed out of frustration and massaged his temple.

His thoughts vanished when he saw a familiar figure come in. She was in her usual luxury clothes, sparkling with stones and carrying a branded bag. She was still wearing her shades, but as soon as she entered his office, she removed them and placed them inside her bag.

She smiled and strode in his direction. She leaned closer and kissed his lips. Walang pasabi itong umupo sa hita niya. His forehead creased.

"Valerie," he said tiredly, refraining himself from saying anything that could hurt her.

"Wow. She seems pissed. She pouted.

"I'm sorry. My mind is preoccupied."

"Like what?" Tumaas ang kilay nito.

"Work, of course." He answered while maintaining eye contact with her. That's the only way he could tell her that he's not lying. Naniwala naman kaagad ito dahil napatango ito.

"Anyway, saan ka ba kahapon nagpunta? I called you so many times because I wanted to visit your family, but I couldn't reach you."

"I texted you that I have to meet the investor for the newly developed vehicle."

"Wait, really?" "But I haven't... Okay, you texted me. I'm sorry, I didn't check my phone. Hilaw itong napangiti.
