YVES
Lakad takbo ang ginawa ko makarating lang sa canteen. 30 mins ang overtime namin sa last subject dahil sa tambak na activities na pinapasubmit ngayong araw.
Si oa daming activities pero tamad naman magturo.
Kainis din eh.
As soon as I entered the canteen, I spotted our table right away, dahil sa lakas ng tawa ni Sheena.
"Ate ko, tapos na kaming kumain bago ka pa lang darating" sermon agad ni Sheena ng makarating ako sa table nila.
I sat next to Ate Aiah since it was the only vacant seat. I noticed na walang bawas ang kanyang plato.
I nudged her gently to get her attention. "bakit hindi kapa kumakain Te Aya?"
"I lost my appetite" she answered almost a whispered.
"Ate Loi, inorder na kita ng fave mo" Jho said, grabbing my attention.
"Thanks Jho-"
"Pakitang tao nanaman yan shea" Stacey interrupted then rolled her eyes on Jho.
"Girls, remember she's still the SSG president. Give her a little respect." Ate Aiah said, her voice firm and authoritative.
Stacey rolled her eyes but couldn't help the small smile that crept onto her face. "Alright, alright. President council nga pala siya she deserves some respect."
Jho shook her head, an amused grin on her face.
"Okay lang ate Aiah, happy pill ako nyang dalawa.""Ate Aiah ang serious mo naman parang di kami kilala ni Staks" sheena said, and she pout to Ate Aiah.
Ate Aiah smiled, but there was a hint of distraction in her eyes. She glanced at her phone again, fingers tapping anxiously on the table. I couldn't shake the feeling that something was really bothering her.
I leaned closer, lowering my voice. "Ate Aiah, you sure everything's okay? You seem... off."
She forced a smile, her eyes not quite meeting mine. "I'm fine, Loi. Just a lot on my mind."
Before I could say more, Shee burst out laughing at something Stacey had said, the sound loud and infectious. I couldn't help but join in, the tension momentarily broken.
"Remember the time Jho tried to organize that surprise party for Ate Aiah and almost set the kitchen on fire?" Shee said, her eyes twinkling with mischief.
"Oh God, don't remind me," Jho groaned, covering her face with her hands. "hindi ko yun sinasadya no."
"It was a sweet gesture, though," Ate Aiah said, her smile genuine this time. "I appreciated the thought."
We continued reminiscing, the stories growing more ridiculous and the laughter louder. But through it all, I kept an eye on Ate Aiah, who seemed to drift in and out of the conversation, her thoughts clearly elsewhere.
Hesitant, I tapped Ate Aiah on the shoulder. "Ate Aiah, are you okay? ang tahimik mo" I asked worriedly, drawing everyone's attention to her.
"I'm okay, don't mind me." she said, her voice slightly trembling.
"Hindi kami sanay na nonchalant ka te, Are you not feeling well? Tell us so we can excuse you from your professors." Shee said, her voice filled with concern.
