"Nakasalubong ko si Shawn ng pababa siya" she said, her voice light but a bit concerned. "Sabi niya hindi ka pa daw naglalunch" she informed me matapos niyang pumasok.
Kaya pala ramdam ko yung kalam ng sikmura ko.
"Hindi pa nga" I admitted. "ikaw ba?"
"Hindi pa rin" she answered at dumiretso siya sa kusina. She opened the fridge, peeking inside. "Sayang, I was planning to cook something, pero halos wala nang laman yung ref."
"Hindi pa nakakapamili eh, Si Kuya Dave lang naman ang masipag mamili" I replied, leaning back in the chair.
She turned to look at me. "I'm curious, kaninong pera ang ginagastos pamimili?"
"Minsan kay Kuya Dave" I said with a shrug.
"Madalas kay Shawn?" she asked habang umupo sa stool ng kitchen table
"Yeah, siya lang naman mapera samin" I added.
"Kaya pala gumawa ni lord ng mayaman, sana man lang dinamay ako" she joked, laughing softly.
I chuckled at that. "Dinamay tayo." I corrected her.
"So, kain tayo sa labas? Or should we do some grocery shopping" I asked her at lumingon sa direksyon nya.
"Actually" she replied, her face lighting up "Gusto kong itry yung bago kong recipe"
I nodded, already heading to my room to grab the keys.
"Tara." aya ko paglabas ng kwarto.
"Pero ikaw ang taya ha" she teased, standing up from the stool.
"Hindi naman tayo maglalaro" pangbabara ko sa kanya, knowing full well what she meant.
Sinamaan niya naman ako ng tingin "Manlilibre kasi"
"I know, edi sana hindi kita inakit."
As we left the condo, I made sure the door was securely locked before we stepped into the elevator.
"May kotse ka pala?" naguguluhang tanong ng kasama ko matapos kaming sumakay sa nakaparadang kotse.
"Not mine" I replied. "It's Shawn's, his spare car na iniiwan niya dito" I lied.
Tumango tango naman siya.
May malapit na grocery store lang dito just a quick 20-minute drive. Kaya mabilis lang kaming nakapunta.
"Kunin mo lahat ng kailangan mo" I told her, pointing at a nearby shopping cart.
She grabbed it and headed straight for the raw foods section, while I made my way to the instant foods aisle. Madalang lang ako magpadeliver ng foods pag ako lang mag isa sa condo. Instant noodles and microwaveable meals were my go-to.
Matapos ko makuha yung mga kailangan ko ay dumiretso ako sa drinks area. Habang nilalagay ko yung mga coke sa cart ko, I heared a familiar voice.
Luminga ako sa paligid and there she is, my eyes landing on a girl with red hair.
And beside her, a morena girl clinging to her arm who seemed all too comfortable in her side. They were near the liquor section, chatting casually.
"What do you want to drink, Deej?" the red-haired girl asked, her voice soft but clear enough to reach my ears.
A wave of irritation washed over me, but I quickly shrugged it off. I thought may namamagitan sa kanila ni Loi. Or maybe I was just jumping to conclusions. Either way, it wasn’t my business.
