NICO

"I'm so full" she said, rubbing her stomach as if to emphasize her point.

"Di ko alam na patay gutom ka pala" sabi ko, habang nilalagay sa isang paper bag lahat ng basura na pinagkainan namin.

She scoffed, rolling her eyes. "Paano ba naman, hindi ako masyadong nakakain ng lunch dahil sa teammates ni Mi—" She suddenly cut herself off. I noticed how she glanced at me from the corner of her eye, napansin niya siguro yung mahinang pag hampas ko sa steering wheel.

So, I was right, magkasama sila.

"Mikha is my friend, okay? I met her accidentally" she defended, her tone a bit too eager to explain.

"Hindi naman ako nagtanong, ah" I responded coldly, not even bothering to look at her.

"Then, why are you acting like that? I remember pa nga na hindi mo ako pinansin sa parking ng ihatid ako ni Mikhs" she pointed out.

"Nagmamadali ako that time" I reason out, keeping my voice even.

"Sus! Babae din ako, I know if something's off" she said, narrowing her eyes at me.

"Promise, friends lang kami ni Mikhs" she added, raising her right hand na akala mo ay nanunumpa.

"Ahh, friends do kisses in public places?" I asked sarcastically, turning to face her at kita ko ang pagkagulat niya.

Gotcha. So, they kissed nga.

"Ha? Mikha and I kissed? When?" nilagay niya pa ang hintuturo sa sentido niya as if trying to remember.

"Nevermind" I muttered, turning away, not wanting to discuss it any further.

I flinched when I heard her laugh, na ikinapagtaka ko.

"Baka ang sinasabi mo ay yung nasa Coffee Sanc? Hindi kami nag-kiss noh! It was just a beso—" She suddenly stopped laughing as something seemed to click in her mind.

Her laughter faded, replaced by realization.

"Wait— I remember na may binanggit na name si Mikhs noon, and yung name na binanggit nung babae kanina..." She turned to me, her finger pointing directly at my face, eyes wide when she realize something.

"It's me" I confirmed, not bothering to hide it.

"Ang sama mo, pinaghintay mo si Mikhs ng matagal" she accused, shaking her head

"Gagawin niyo pa akong third wheel"

"Anong third wheel ka d'yan, eh hindi ko nga siya type" she said in 'dismissal' tone.

I raised an eyebrow. "What's your type then?"

"Ikaw"

I looked at her again without any emotion. "Ako?"

"Ikaw... naman, hindi ko alam na may pagka-tsismosa ka rin pala" tumawa pa siya, but I could hear the awkwardness in her voice.

A minute passed in silence, na parang may dumaan na anghel sa sobrang tahimik kaya I decided to break the silence.

"Mag seatbelt ka na, magdadrive na ako," I said, reaching for the steering wheel.

Sinunod naman niya, and I checked the time—1 AM in the morning.

"Bakit ka nga pala nasa restaurant?" she asked out of nowhere.

"Part-time job as a waitress" I said half-lied, keeping my eyes on the road.
