YVES

She’s driving now, and we’re already outside the city.

I don’t have the energy to ask where we’re going, so I just close my eyes letting the soft hum of the engine lull me into a quiet calm.

I’m not sure how long I’ve been sleeping, nagising na lang ako ng maramdaman ko na bumabagal na ang andar ng kotse. I blink a few times, as she gently parks the car.

"Where are we, Uyab?" I mumbled half sleep as I rub my eyes.

"Small town." she replies simply, her tone is soft as she steps out of the car.

Cute.

There’s a small smile tugging at her lips, and the gesture her helping me out of the car—is so simple, yet so sweet.

"Thanks." I murmur, feeling a little shy all of a sudden.

Naglakad kami nang magkasabay, at habang lumalapit kami sa gitna ng town, I finally take in the scene around us. Pero hindi ito parang basta-bastang town lang.

It was lively, bustling with people, people milling about, small shops lining the street, colorful signs hanging above every store. Ang daming tindahan kahit saan ka lumingon.

It feels like we’ve stepped into a postcard, the kind of place where time slows down and all your worries disappear, even just for a little while.

I’m lost in the sights, in the cozy atmosphere of this little town, nang maramdaman ko bigla ang kamay niya na dahan-dahang humawak sa kamay ko.

Napalingon ako sa kanya, but she doesn’t meet my eyes. Instead, she keeps her gaze fixed straight ahead, her expression calm and unreadable.

"Just making sure you don’t get lost." she says casually.

Without saying anything I intertwined our fingers, letting the warmth of her hand spread through me.

We continue walking like that, her hand in mine, the quiet moments between us filled with an unspoken understanding. It’s not grand gestures or dramatic confessions—it’s the small things, like the way she glances over at me when she thinks I’m not looking, or how she slows her pace just enough for us to walk in sync.

As we pass by a small bakery, the scent of freshly baked bread fills the air, and I can’t help but smile at the cozy warmth of it all. Everything about this place feels right, and I realize it’s not just the town that’s making me feel this way—it’s her.

That's why, no matter how difficult things get, no matter how many people try to tear us apart, I don’t regret a single thing.

Loving her—it's the one decision I’m absolutely sure of.

Every tear, every struggle, every moment of uncertainty… they’re all worth it because she makes me feel like I’m finally alive, like I’m no longer lost.

Sa kanya ko lang nararamdaman 'yung ganito.

"Do you like it here?" she asks softly, finally turning to meet my gaze.
