NICO

I'm deciding kung saan tatambay, If I go to the music room, it's too far-nakakatamad maglakad. Kung sa library naman a big NO, dadaan kasi sa building ng business dept and baka makasalubong ko pa siya.

I'm avoiding her, because getting close to someone like her is a risk I can't afford. Ang dami kasing signs that I should keep my distance.

I know people like her-they're all the same in the end. They'll leave you hanging. Better to stay away while I can.

I'm tired, physically and emotionally. The idea of dragging myself through crowded streets is just too much.

Seeing that red hair girl again would only ruin my day further.

Then, a thought crossed my mind-there's one place I could go. Without thinking twice, my feet started moving in that direction.

"Council office" I read the sign hanging above the door.

I knocked three times before the door creaked open. She seemed surprised to see me. "Come in" she said, opening the door wider para makapasok ako.

"I thought you're, Loi" she mumbled under her breath, na hindi ko naintindihan.

"Ano sabi mo?" I asked, but she just answered me a "wala"

"You have bruises ba?" she asked, her voice laced with concern. She walked over to the side table, where a nameplate read, V-P Council: Aiah Arceta.

Kaya pala familiar yung boses at mukha niya-siya nga pala yung nanalo bilang Vice President ng student council.

"Can I stay here kahit mga four hours lang?" Instead of answering her question ay nagtanong din ako.

"What?" She looked at me, na nakataas ang isang kilay.

"Uulitin ko pa ba? Di ka naman siguro bingi, no?" I shot back then smirked at her.

She rolled her eyes at me. "I heard you loud and clear, but why here?"

"May kasalanan ka pa sakin, diba?" pangungunsensya ko pa sa kanya.

She let out a sigh, her expression torn between annoyance and worry. "I know, pero this isn't a motel. Baka makita ka ni Pres, tapos ako pa ang mapagalitan."

"Okay lang, ikaw lang naman pala ang papagalitan eh" I simply said.

Tumingin siya sakin ng hindi makapaniwala. "Bawal talaga dito. If I were you, uuwi na lang ako."

I crossed my arms "Masakit pwetan ko dahil sa pagbagsak ko sa lupa. Is that a valid reason para mag-stay dito?"

She let out a deep breath, clearly trying to keep her patience intact, before looking back at me. “Fine, pero if anything happens, ikaw ang mananagot.” tinuro pa niya ako.

I couldn’t help but smile. Sometimes, you just have to push the right buttons to get what you want.

As I watched her move to her laptop, she glanced at me and asked, "3 hours, is that enough time para makapagpahinga ka?" She didn’t even look up, just kept typing away like she was doing something important.

I asked, feeling my body finally give in to the exhaustion.

She stood up from her desk "Sumunod ka sakin" she ordered, and I didn’t waste any time following her.
