YVES

"San tayo pupunta?" tanong ko sa kanya habang palabas na kami ng boarding house.

Nagstay lang kami ng ilang oras doon, sapat lang para makapagpahinga saglit and now, we were heading out again.

"Basta."

I just smiled and let myself follow her lead, trusting her completely. As we walked side by side, I couldn't help but feel the excitement building in my chest. We wandered through a few quiet streets until we reached a charming, unassuming house. I had no idea where we were, but as soon as we stepped inside, halos mahigit ko ang aking paghinga.

The interior was stunning, hindi ko maiwasang mapanganga. Art filled every inch of the place. Drawings and paintings adorned the walls, some abstract, others more detailed, but each one seemed to tell its own story.

She went ahead at lumapit sa isang babae na halatang may-ari ng lugar, handing her some money, probably paying for something. Habang busy sila sa pag-uusap, nilibot ko ang tingin sa buong paligid. I couldn't tear my eyes away from the art around me. There was so much to take in-the colors, the strokes, the emotions that seemed to jump off each canvas.

"You like it?" biglang tanong niya, na hindi ko napansin na nasa tabi ko na pala.

"I love it." I replied, still mesmerized by everything around us. It wasn't just the art that captured me-it was the atmosphere, the intimacy of the space, and the fact that she had brought me here.

She smiled at my response and then motioned toward a small table in the corner na kasalukuyang inaayos ng babaeng nakausap niya kanina.

"Tara don." she said, nodding her head in that direction.

I followed her to the table, and as I got closer, I realized it was laid out with everything we'd need to make our own art-sketch pads, pencils, paint, brushes. Every little thing an artist could dream of was neatly arranged, waiting for us to dive in.

Umupo siya sa tabi ko at hindi ko na napigilan ang sarili ko, I wrapped my arms around her in a tight hug.

"Thank you for bringing me here, Uyab."

She let out a soft hum in response. She gave my shoulder a gentle tap, and I pulled away just enough to meet her eyes.

I immediately reached for a pencil and sketchpad, eager to start drawing. I could feel her watching me kaya napalingon ako sa kanya at nakita ko siyang nakasandal habang nanonood sa ginagawa ko.

As I began sketching, I could feel my heart settling into a peaceful rhythm. The moment was so serene, so perfect. I was lost in the lines I was creating.

After a while, I paused and looked over at her. She was still watching me, her chin resting on her hand.

"Aren't you bored? Bakit hindi mo subukang mag-drawing din?" I suggested, handing her a pencil.

She raised an eyebrow at umiling. "Nah, I'm good. I like watching you more." she said at halos hindi ko na naintindihan dahil pabulong lang yung ginawa niya.

Time seemed to slow down, the only sound being the soft scratch of pencils against paper.

After I finished my drawing, they asked me to hang it on the collection wall. I couldn't help but feel proud, a soft smile tugging at my lips as I stepped back to admire it. There was something fulfilling about seeing my work displayed, a small part of me now part of this beautiful place.

As we walked out, a gentle breeze greeted us. Ang dating maliwanag na paligid ay unti-unti nang tinatakpan ng dapithapon. Though the day was ending, there were still people around, savoring the last moments of light.
