Chapter 41

Chishiya and I began making our way inside The Beach as we left y/n alone in the car. I feel like that was a bad move leaving her alone, but it was probably the safer option knowing there's multiple people in here wanting to kill her.

Walking around the beach seemed different. Quieter. I looked towards Chishiya and could tell he noticed too.

"What's going on? Where is everyone?" I questioned, knowing Mr. Know-It-All would have some answers, but his eyebrow just furrowed as he carried on looking around.

Just as we were approaching the stairs to make our way to Hatters room, we heard a voice calling our name, we both quickly turned to towards the voice and was met with Ann.

"You need to come with me, somewhere quieter" she quickly turned and we began to follow.

As we reached what seemed to be a large storage cupboard she ushered us both inside before shutting the door on the 3 of us.

"Can you tell us what the fuck is going on?!" I questioned, an annoyed tone to my voice, but Ann put her hand over my mouth.

"Will you be quiet?!" She whispered loudly. "You should think yourself lucky I was the one to find you!" She added.

"Where is everyone?" Chishiya added quietly. Ann sighed and rubbed her temples.

"I don't know how to say this, but Hatter is dead. Most people here think it was one of you" she swallowed loudly. "He was found dead in a game earlier, Aguni found him and brought him back here, word got out quickly and now everyone is looking for the 2 of you, and y/n."

"You know it wasn't us, right?" Chishiya questioned.

"Of course I do, there's only a few of us who are on your side, even most of the militants are trying to find you" Ann added.

"I need to talk to Aguni" I loudly declared as I began opening the door and making my way out.

"No! You need to get out of here while you can!" Ann shouted after me, but I was too mad. How dare people accuse me of killing Hatter. I would of loved to of done it, but I'm not being falsely accused.

I started making my way upstairs and heared Chishiyas quick footsteps behind me.

"Where are you going? This could be our chance to get out of here with y/n!" He whispered loudly towards me. "You heard Ann, everyone wants to kill us and no one is going to stop until its done! Do you know how many people are at the beach?! Think of y/n!"

I suddenly froze as I turned the corner. Not because of what Chishiya said. I couldn't care less about what he was saying. But there was what seemed to be a few dozen people at the other end of the corridor, passing all sorts of weapons around. Suddenly one of them looked up towards me.

"There they are!!" One of the shouted as a wave of faces quickly looked towards Chishiya and I.

"Shit." I mumbled as I quickly ran back the way I came, Chishiya close behind me.

Luckily Ann was waiting at the bottom of the stairs.

"Back so soon?" She questioned as she saw the worried look on both of our faces. "Go back out front, ill tell them you went the other way"

We quickly made our way back towards the car to find the doors open and no y/n inside.

"FUCK!" I shouted in disbelief "Can't she just stay in 1 place for 2 seconds!"

Chishiyas eyes widened and began looking all around the car and surrounding areas.

"What if someone else found her?" He quietly questioned. Fuck. What if he was right? "We need to go back, she obviously didn't pass us at the front of the beach, we need to check the side exit"

We ran towards the side of the Beach, hoping for any sort of sign of y/n. Suddenly there was a surge of loud shouting and screaming coming from inside the beach, we swiftly made our way toward the noise, a wave of sickness in my stomach knowing it had to be something to do with y/n.

"Remember to keep her alive" we heard one of them shout. "Aguni needs her alive!" Another added.

Chishiya and I poked our head around the door to see multiple people pulling y/n up the stairs, grabbing her and holding her mouth closed. I couldn't take any more.

I pushed through the door and raised my gun, putting my finger on the trigger and letting the bullets fly wherever they may, being careful not to point too close to y/n. I couldn't shoot her for a third time. That would just be slightly too many.

People started falling like dominos, hearing screams and body's hitting the floor, until suddenly they began letting go of y/n and running for their lives.

Chishiya ran past me towards y/n, my gun still in the air. Maybe if I just shot one more bullet I could say it was an accident? I contemplated this for a moment before realising its probably not the best idea.

I ran after Chishiya, trying to be the first to reach y/n. Unfortunately we reached her at the same time, but it was worth it when her arms flew around me. And around Chishiya.

"What's happening?!" Y/n questioned between her tears.

"Hatters dead and they think it was one of us" Chishiya quickly answered. "We need to leave, we don't know what Agunis plans are for you, he wanted you alive and us 2 dead" he added, y/ns eyes widening.

"That's not true" we heard a deep voice from behind us. We all quickly turned to see Aguni stood, a vacant look in his eyes. "Everyone just thought it was one of you two, I just chose not to correct them"

"Then why do you want y/n alive?" Chishiya asked rather quietly.

"No reason. I just wanted to save the girl. She's done nothing wrong, I was fed up with Hatters mindless killing." Aguni spoke with no emotion in his voice.

"One of the militants said something big was coming?" Y/n questioned.

Aguni just sighed "Why can't people just learn to keep their mouths shut" he grumbles to himself, as he did this I turned towards Chishiya who seemed to have a look of realisation on his face.

"So you killed Hatter" Chishiya spoke quietly. His eyes not leaving Aguni. "You killed Hatter to take over the beach. You needed someone to blame so let people believe it was me or Niragi because they knew we were already mad with him. You told them to keep y/n alive so you knew who you could trust to become your minions. You needed someone to be your second in command. Someone you could trust." Chishiya just stared deeply into Agunis eyes, who's poker face slowly began to crack.

"That's not true" Aguni repeated. I turned towards y/n who just kept quiet.

I noticed the look y/n and Aguni exchanged, Chishiya must of noticed it too.

"Y/n? What's going on?" Chishiya quietly questioned, but y/n just looked towards the floor.

Before anyone else could speak, a loud voice echoed through the corridors;

"Please make your way to the lobby. The game is about to commence"

We all froze at the sound, I could almost hear our hearts beating from our chests.

Y/n looked towards me, then to Chishiya and back to me.

"10 of hearts" Chishiya quietly spoke, y/ns eyes widening at his words.

It's finally happening.
