Steven stared blankly at the monitor as his face and voice confessed to every crime committed by oasis. Videos of undeniable evidence flashed in front of his eyes. The screen then turned to black as a soft voice began to play.
"We were certainly not expecting your betrayal Steven or atleast Neer wasn't, I took the liberty of asking Neer for enough leverage to completely level your career if you decide to rebel against us"
The door slammed shut and the screen showed the image of Colress "I'll make you a deal you can try to resist and watch your career and reputation burn to ash or you could lay here quietly and beg for forgiveness when the fighting is over"
"What'll it be Steven?" the audio cut and Steven was left in eerie silence as he contemplated his situation. He clenched his fists in anger.
Why is this happening to me ? Did I not work hard enough??
Dark thoughts and doubt plagued Stevens mind as he clenched his teeth
Flashback
Steven had just returned from accompanying Pr.Birch to the Johto region. "So you're off to complete the gym challenge ?" asked the Professor. Steven shook his head "I have to finish my studies first" Birch nodded solemnly "Y'know you don't have to become a rock headed businessman like the rest of the adults my age ,this region outta have more people like Cynthia and Y/n" Steven scoffed "Oh please Cynthia is just a talented girl who lacks the bravery and Y/n is far too dimwitted and soft" Birch sighed "You act like you know what it's like to be a champion already"
"I do, I could an amazing champion If i wanted to" he barked his cheeks turning red. "Yet here you are still chasing after your fathers' dream" Steven turned red "I have my own dream, to be the strongest trainer in this region and earn the respect of everyone. So finally that old man will look me in the eyes and show me some damn respect!"

I'm sorry father" Steven muttered to himself "I may not be cut out to be a champion and I may not be worthy to inherit your legacy but I'll be damned if I let these criminals get away with it"
He sent out Metang "Even if I lose the respect of my whole region as long as can put a stop to people like you it's worth it "
"So be it let your reputation go up in flames"
*CRASHH!
Stevens Metang tore through the corridor tearing open every single door until he found Colress. Colress reached for a alarm but Steven slapped him away before choking him against the wall. "Impossible , do you not care about your reputation ?" Steven scoffed.
"Bringing someone like you to justice brings me even more pleasure"
"Let me go please I promise I'll deactivate the Genesect just don't hurt me" Steven sneered before dragging Colress to his computer. Colress gasped before hunching over and pressing a few buttons. Steven let out a relieved sigh but Colress grinned widely before bursting into laughter " PASSCODE 40097 ORDER 66 INITIATE SELF DESTRUCT UPON DEFEAT"
Steven lunged at Colress pushing him away from the computer. A bright timer appeared on the screen counting down 5 minutes. Colress dug into his pockets releasing two magnemite "Destroy the computer now!" Metang burst forward clamping down on one of the pokemon but the second released a thunderbolt destroying the computer and frying its circuit.
"You monster!" screamed Steven "If those things explode they'll kill everything!" Colress cackled "Killing maybe , critically injuring definitely"
"You idiot don't you care about the lives that will be affected ?" Colress shrugged "I only care about bringing out the potential power of pokemon and making sure my research lives on" Steven cursed and pushed Colress to the ground.
