CH 38 : Last stages

Cynthia writhed in agony as she endured the 30 minutes of torture.

1798....1799....1800 

Cynthia knew the other were probably retreating but deep down she wanted nothing more but to be rescued she counted the seconds to keep focus and remain conscious.

Why do I always have to be the strongest and rescue everyone is there no one that I can depend on

Neer walked onto the roof "You're still fighting it I see, no doubt you're trying the buy time for the other to escape but that's of no use Steven was in close range of the Genesect explosion and Y/n was turned to ash by Protons bomb as for the gym leaders and Giovanni's son they'll all meet their end in due time, admit you've lost Cynthia so be a good girl and die" Cynthia smirked 

"Shut up Neer, you've lost all your Genesect and Giovanni and his admins are probably  running for their lives not only that all your lowly grunts have retreated and Regigigas is now defeated ,the way I see it you're the one who took the bigger loss"

Neer scowled "To talk like this after your friends have died"

"They knew the risks and undoubtedly they expected that this outcome was most likely but I'm sure you didn't expect to be absolutely embarrassed by a band of mid teens and young adults doesn't seem very king worthy of you"

Neer snapped as a line of blood leaked from his nose "What's the matter Neer seems like your power is fading"

Neer rammed his fists into her stomach knocking her out before grabbing her neck. Suddenly Neers cellphone rang shifting his focus.

"What is it Colress?"

"Sir I suggest you come to the basement floor immediately the emergency medical bay is running but I'm not sure how long it may last in its condition also the elevators are broken so you'll have to take the stairs"

Neer grunted and hung up "Kill her and rest" he said blankly. He scoffed at Cynthia and watched Spiritomb fling the Champion off the roof before leaving to join Colress.

"Now Y/n" shouted Colress Y/n sent out Roarks pokeball Aerodactyl(yes the same one) burst forth snatching Y/n in its claws and zooming towards the roof. "Aim for her" Aerodactyl grunted and aimed towards Cynthia Y/n stretched out his hands and the two trainers collided into each other the shock woke up Cynthia who clutched onto Y/n in a panic. Y/n wrapped his arms around her in a hug as Aerodactyl glided them to safety. 

"Sorry Goldilocks I'd love to let you sleep this through but I need your help"

Cynthia groaned and tried to stand straight "You look rough ,what happened ?" Cynthia sighed "Bad day what about you?" Y/n shrugged "Me too" The pair regrouped with Colress in the courtyard and discussed the next move. 

"Leave me here ,I'll distract Neer until Silver and the other escape" said Colress glancing at his watch. "Why are we working with him?" whispered Cynthia. "We're desperate" Colress smiled innocently. Cynthia rolled her eyes "You do realize he tried to kill me "

"Correction severely wound or incapacitate" corrected Colress. Cynthia scowled and Y/n calmed her down allowing Colress to live.

"Once Neer had healed his pokemon he'll attempt to regain his power and come after the survivors meaning this is the last opportunity you'll have to escape"

Cynthia shook her head first "I will stay behind as this regions champion it's my job to finish this" Y/n grinned "Well as this regions next champions it's also my responsibility"

A small smile crept on Cynthia's lips as she felt Y/n hand hold onto hers. Colress raised his eyebrow before shrugging "Thousands of dollars in college debt studying science yet I still cannot understand humans" Colress walked off.
