Rocky's POV

I'm finally taking Shivangi with me to New York. The past week has been incredibly tough for her, and everything that happened to her is completely wrong. Although we can't undo the past, I am committed to making sure her future is secure and bright.

I will ensure she is safe and protected, and that no one can harm her, not even in the slightest way.

I regret leaving her in India, but I won't make that mistake again. From now on, she will stay with me, and only with me.

When I found out that Rudra was responsible for what happened to Shivangi, I immediately contacted my lawyer to start preparing the divorce papers. What shocked me even more was the reaction of Shivangi's parents.

Instead of supporting her, they are backing Rudra. Their outdated views still seem to accept marital rape as something acceptable, which is deeply troubling. It’s disheartening that in our society, some people still believe a husband has the right to do whatever he wants to his wife. Sadly, this mentality persists in many households, where girls are silenced through blackmail or emotional manipulation. Shivangi was facing a similar situation, but I was there to stand by her. It's sad that many girls don’t have that kind of support, but I am determined not to let the same thing happen to Shivangi.

_______

Right now we are sitting in the airport lounge, waiting for our flight to board. Shivangi seemed lost in her thoughts, barely speaking to me. I understood why she was so distracted—leaving her parents must be emotionally overwhelming. But I truly believe that this is the right decision for her. I know it might seem like I’m forcing my decision on her, but I can’t bear the thought of her staying with parents who refuse to support her and who view her situation as something ordinary. I feel strongly that she needs to be somewhere where she can get the support she needs.

I tried to get her attention by calling her name softly, but she didn’t hear me, completely absorbed in her own thoughts. I called her again, a bit louder, “Shivangi.” Still, there was no response. So, in an attempt to gently snap her out of her reverie, I lightly patted her shoulder. She suddenly jumped, as if startled, and I quickly withdrew my hand, feeling a pang of guilt. “Shivangi, it’s me, Rocky. I’m really sorry. I didn’t mean to scare you,” I said, my voice tinged with panic. “I just needed to get your attention because you weren’t responding. I’m really sorry for startling you.”

She took a deep breath, visibly calming down, and replied, “No, no, it’s fine, Rocky. I’m sorry, I was just lost in my thoughts.”

Just then, we heard some news from a person sitting nearby, who was watching the news on their phone. The report was about a tragic car accident involving the son of a prominent businessman and owner of a Raichand company. Shivangi’s attention was immediately drawn to this, and I noticed a smirk forming on my face as I listened. She pulled out her own phone and checked the latest news, which confirmed Rudra Raichand, the son of Yash Raichand, had died in a car accident.

“What?” I heard Shivangi mutter under her breath. Although she whispered, I was close enough to hear her.

Shivangi looked at me, clearly shocked and confused. “How could he die like this?” she asked, her voice filled with disbelief.

I countered, “What? Are you not happy about this?”

“No, it’s not that,” she said quickly. “But wait a minute, Rocky, are you somehow involved in this?” Her voice was filled with concern and suspicion.

I shook my head and said, “No way. Do you really think I would have given him such an easy death, No way! Besides, the news says his car fell off a hill because the brakes failed. How could I possibly orchestrate something like that? I was with you the whole time, Shivangi. You need to relax and not jump to conclusions.”
