Chapter 24: Answers about the Akatsuki's (finally!)

Without so much as a single word, Hikaru got up and left, heading towards the stream where he could be relatively alone.

"Should we go after him?" Rengoku wondered and Tanjiro was quick to shut that down.

"I think that right now we should just let him have some time by himself," He said.

"That is for the best, when he is ready he will come back" Ubuyashiki agreed.

"In that case, while we are waiting for the next scene to start, why don't we do some training? Like what was said before, even if we can't build up muscle while in here we can get into a routine that we are used to and can replicate once we leave" Uzui suggested.

"That sounds like a good idea," Tanjiro smiled. Inosuke was already laughing and declaring challenges to anyone that was near him and Zenitsu looked like he was about to either pass out or cry, perhaps both of them.

"If that is what you wish to do then you are more than welcome to, though I think that perhaps that no spars should be allowed, after all the last time that a fight broke out, it seemed to affect Hikaru" Ubuayshiki reminded them. They remembered when Akaza first appeared here and how Hikaru had to stop them from attacking even as if seemed like he was coughing up blood.

"We still don't know exactly what made him have that reaction so we shall start out with easy training and see if that affects him" Himejima declared. Since none of the Hashira objected to that no one else did either. With that decided, Tanjiro was instantly approached by Rengoku to get help with his total concentration breathing constant. Inosuke was grabbed by Himejima as well as Genya, he was determined to get the wild boar to have some discipline in situations that called for it. Shinobu talked to Kanao for a few minutes before she approached Tamayo and Yushiro to talk about medicine. Kanao on the other hand had her own training regiment that she normally followed so she decided to just follow that again. Zenitsu tried to sneak away from everyone but it wasn't even a few seconds of him creeping away before he was grabbed by Uzui who just raised an eyebrow. Knowing that he could never break away from Uzui Zenitsu just started to cry as he was pulled away by the sound hashira, who paid no attention to his tears. Kanroji shyly asked if Obanai wanted to train together and beamed happily when he nodded his agreement. Sanemi clicked his tongue and walked away from everyone else, deciding to train on his own and he wasn't the only one as Muichirou trained by himself as well. Akaza seeing that the demon slayers were all going to be training decided that instead of sticking around and starting a fight, he would move away from them, this way he couldn't see them and they couldn't see him as he done his own training. Ubuyashiki stayed seated with Tamayo, Yushiro and Shinobu approaching him to include him in their decisions and asking if he had anything to add. With everyone moving around and splitting up into their own groups they didn't notice one their own slipping away and heading towards where Hikaru had gone.

Giyuu saw Hikaru was simply sitting under a tree, his mask sitting next to his feet, his face buried in his knees so that he couldn't see his face. Without a word, Giyuu approached him and sat down next to him, making Hikaru look up at him. There were tear tracks on his face and there were still tears running down his face even if he tried to quickly wipe them away.

"You don't need to do that" Giyuu put a stop to the frantic rubbing.

"I-Is there something that I can help you with?" Hikaru asked, his voice cracking but Giyuu didn't say anything.

"No, I just thought that I might sit here with you," Giyuu shrugged as he looked at the river. They still couldn't really see much over the river other than the outlines of the statues but it was still better than staring at nothing at all.
