It wasn't surprising that this break was more relaxed than the ones that had been happening for a while since they hadn't been stopped in the middle of a fight. Of course they were about to start another huge battle so they couldn't fully relax.
"Hey Tanjiro, you want to help me here please?" Hikaru requested since Nezuko was still on his lap and her hands were latched onto his haori.
"Right, right," Tanjiro smiled, happy to see the two of them together but did move to help Hikaru detach Nezuko and settle her on his own lap.
"We were going to decide on code words aren't we?" Rengoku questioned.
"You guys can decide that, I need to go get some water," Hikaru said as he got to his feet. Tanjiro, Zenitsu and Inosuke both narrowed their eyes at him but didn't say anything about his lie. They weren't the only ones that realized the lie as a few glances were given to him but they remembered how angry Hikaru had gotten during the last scenes and decided that maybe he just needed to get away and fully calm down now that it was over.
"Does anyone have any ideas on what codes words we could use?" Ubuyashiki questioned and Akaza got to his feet and left, having no interest in those so-called code words.
"We could use different foods?" Kanroji suggested.
"That sounds like a good idea," Rengoku beamed.
"Yeah, that doesn't seem like a good idea. Not everyone can remember foods as good as you guys," Uzui shot that idea down.
"Maybe different medicines," Shinobu said and everyone looked at her.
"No way anyone will be able to remember all of them," Obanai rejected.
"I'm not going to remember it no matter what it is," Muichirou shrugged. It seems like everyone else was taking this chance to suggest their own code words, though how beautiful woman's lives (Zenitsu's suggestion), Inosuke's minion names (Inosuke's suggestion) and Tanjiro just agreeing with everyone else would help no one would be able to guess.
"Giyuu if you don't mind I would like to talk to you," Himejima approached Giyuu who was sitting to the side and simply watching what was happening.
"Ah... Sure," Giyuu nodded and Himejima sat down but made sure that there was still space between them. He might not have been able to get a good grasp on Giyuu over the years of being Hashira's together but the one thing that he did know was that Giyuu didn't like others being too close to him.
"It has come to my attention that I may owe you an apology," Himejima said.
"I don't really know why you are apologizing," Giyuu replied. Himejima realized that this was a sentence that could be misunderstood as Giyuu brushing off the apology before it even happened but now he realized that wasn't what he meant at all. He was simply pointing out that he really didn't understand why Himejima would apologize to him.
"Over the years that we have been Hashira's together I have never once attempted to get to know you better and only judged you without knowing you," Himejima explained.
"It doesn't matter," Giyuu said.
"Perhaps not to you, however it does matter to me. Instead of judging you I should have gotten to know you and not listen to the opinions of others. I would like to be able to get to know you and be able to call you my friend," Himejima said and Giyuu froze a little. The last person he had called a friend had been Sabito and he.... Giyuu wasn't sure if he would be able to call someone else his friend. If he did, they would just end up like Sabito, like Tsutako, he couldn't.
"Deep breaths, I didn't mean to make you panic," Himejima was a little worried at how Giyuu had started to panic with just the suggestion of having a friend.
