Everyone was surprised that it wasn't Hikaru or Sanemi leaving as soon as the scenes came to a stop. Instead it was Uzui that was instantly on his feet and before anyone could blink he was gone in the direction of one of the other directions.
"Should we be worried about Uzui?" Giyuu wondered. He was still new to the whole, people interacting with him, but he knew that he liked it when Rengoku, Uzui or Hikaru comforted him when he was feeling upset.
"Maybe I should go and see if he is okay," Rengoku decided as he made to get up but he was stopped.
"I'll go," Hikaru said and they turned to him. "More than likely he is upset at me and it might make him lash out and say some stuff that he normally wouldn't so it will probably be better if we have this conversation away from you guys.”
"And what are you going to do if he attacks you?" Sanemi demanded and Rengoku bristled.
"Uzui isn't that upset and even if he was, he would never resort to something like that," Hikaru instantly rebuffed before turning and leaving to follow Uzui. Ubuyashiki was quick to reprimand Sanemi for his harsh words that shouldn't have been said.
"I wonder what Uzui is upset at Hikaru for though, I mean is it because they couldn't get away in time in the scenes?" Kanroji questioned.
"I don't know actually, but maybe because of Hikaru's last thought in the scene," Rengoku suggested. Kanao flipped her coin and got the answer she wanted so she turned to them.
"At the end of the scene Hikaru in the future didn't try to run away, instead he was running towards Uzui and the attack from Gyutaro," Kanao said. Everyone froze at that. They hadn't realized that Hikaru had once more thrown himself towards danger, but this wasn't a danger that he thought he could survive. If not, why would he think the way that he did?
"No wonder Uzui is upset," Tanjiro whispered, looking horrified. When they got back, he would be sure to have a talk with Hikaru about this.

Hikaru didn't rush towards where Uzui was, instead he took his time walking to him since it would give the other male some time to calm himself down and think about what he wanted to think about. When he finally found the sound hashira he was next to the river in what would count as the 'summer' part of his mindscape. He was kneeling down while staring at nothing over the river, he was lost in thought and Hikaru wasn't sure if he wanted to disturb him.
"You threw yourself towards me," Uzui said and Hikaru realized that he knew he was there so he approached him.
"Yeah I did," Hikaru knew there was no reason for him to try and lie since they had all seen.
"That was a stupid thing to do," Uzui scolded but still wouldn't meet his eyes.
"Maybe it was, maybe it wasn't, we will only know when we watch some more of these scenes," Hikaru replied.
"With the way things are going I can honestly say I don't think that I want to watch anymore," Uzui scoffed and Hikaru winced. "The amount of wounds that you are getting, the amount of hurt the other slayers are suffering and what Rengoku went through...."
Uzui trailed off at the end but Hikaru knew what he meant and he could understand why it was that he wasn't wanting to watch anymore of the scenes.
"It feels like I am back in the place of my birth and I feel like the same useless child that I was. Having to sit back and watch as everyone around me gets hurt and not being able to do a damn thing about it," Uzui snarled, his face twisting in rage.
"Of course you can do something about it," Hikaru said.
"You don't understand, they are already gone, I can't...." Once more Uzui cut himself off when he realized that he was getting stuck in the past without meaning to.
