I. But that's so human

I don't enjoy stress.

In fact, this situation makes me feel so stressed that I wish I was back in college.

Back in the exam rooms.

So, I did what I could and laughed awkwardly at the ceremony while playing stupid. And when my wonderful family came to the rescue, I made my escape.

Why?

Because I need time.

Five years.

Five fucking years of peace and a storm had to ruin it all.

Who is the storm?

Luke Parker.

Winnie elbowed me.

"Ow. What?"

"What's wrong with you?" she whispers.

Right now, we're at a family dinner to celebrate my graduation.

"Nothing." I picked on the steak.

Winnie glanced around the table before she inched back to me, "Is it Luke?"

The fork in my hand stops, "No?"

She chuckles, "It's him, isn't it?" She grabbed my arm, "Tell me. Why was he there today?"

"What are you two whispering about over there?" Trevon asked.

Simultaneously, we looked at him, "Nothing," we said at the same time.

"Nothing," Trevon grumbled." He grabbed the cup of water. "Living with Winnie is fun, they say. It's like having another sister. Well, I didn't ask for another sister."

"You're 21," Winnie said. "Grow up."

"Grow up," he pitched his voice before he drank the water.

Winnie rolls her eyes, "So?"

"I'll tell you later."

After dinner, everyone surprised me with graduation gifts. I had a good time, and I would have had an even better time if Luke hadn't ruined it.

When the day was over, and the excitement died down, I found myself in the bedroom. I expected Luke to contact me that night, maybe confront me about the future or why I ran away, but he didn't.

It made me more anxious.

In a way, I wish he had done so we could be done with it.

I prefer to do it before my new job.

The following day was Winnie's graduation, and nothing much happened except when Ben surprised her with a gift for New Zealand.

To think, four years ago, he couldn't even talk to a girl.

Now, he's one smooth bastard.

With the New Zealand surprise, Winnie forgot about Luke's appearance.

And that's fine by me.

Not too long after, Winnie left the country with Ben, and Trevon frequently left the house to meet Mina; the house became quiet again. It'll be chaotic for a little while when Winnie returns and then quiet again when Trevon and I leave.

I'd love to stay with my parents, but with my new job requiring a four-hour commute, I can't commit to that.

A week after graduation, I found myself cuddling on the couch, similar to my high school graduation.
