Valentine also saw the woman in the grayish-white long dress. With hatred in her eyes and a stern expression, she spread her arms wide as if embracing the sun.A beam of light, incomparably pure and radiant, descended from nowhere, striking the figure holding the giant scissors.
The surroundings were instantly illuminated, and the transparent faces that had appeared on the walls and glass disappeared without even having time to scream.
Even though the woman's body had clearly been ignited and was evaporating, she suddenly vanished.
This scene felt eerily familiar to Lumian. When he had hunted the creature with the maw earlier, it had exhibited a similar phenomenon.
Invisibility!
Of course, the woman might not have just turned invisible, but she was definitely not dead. As a result, Lumian felt no joy, and instead, he moved closer to Lane, who now seemed much taller.
Covered in silver-white armor and wielding a giant sword of light, Lane was the one person present who Lumian felt he could trust the most.
He looked like someone who could really fight!
At this moment, behind Lia, near the entrance to the tower, the pale face of a child suddenly emerged from the wall, transforming into the woman in the grayish-white long dress.
The giant scissors in her hand clamped down on Lia's neck.
Snap!
Lia's head fell off, but there was no blood spurting out. Her body and head quickly shrank and flattened, turning into a broken paper figure that lightly fluttered to the ground.
Her figure, dressed in a pleated woolen dress, reappeared in the air not far away.
With a clang, Lane, his face hidden by a silver-white helmet, raised the sword of dawn in his hand. In one stride, he reached the spot where Lia had just stood and slashed heavily at the woman.
The woman raised her scissors, trying to block, but was forcefully struck into the wall, both she and her weapon.
Once again, her figure disappeared.
Behind Valentine, dressed in a blue fine-wool coat, a swollen, blue-tinted face instantly replaced the woman's.
She extended her body and aimed the scissors at the back of Valentine's neck.
"Watch out!" Lia shouted as soon as the woman appeared, warning her companion.
Valentine immediately grunted, and his already spread arms closed slightly.
Golden, ethereal flames leaped out from the void around him, forming a sea that filled the corridor with the aura of the sun.
The woman was enveloped in the flames, a look of pain on her face as her body burned fiercely.
She retracted back into the wall, returning to the swollen, blue face.
The transparent face quickly dissolved into wisps of black gas within the golden, ethereal flames, and then evaporated.
Clang!
Lane's sword of dawn struck again in that spot, making the entire castle seem to tremble.
But he was still a step too late, failing to block the woman.
Lumian roughly understood the current situation. The woman who had delivered Louis Lund's baby was linked to the transparent childlike faces on the walls and glass surfaces. She could transform into one of them or revert to her ghostly state, avoiding attacks and transferring damage.
