The attack by Susanna Mathis is imminent? Considering that Charlie has no other enemies and has recently been working as a waiter at the Breeze Dance Hall, not going anywhere dangerous, Lumiere quickly formed a clear guess in his mind.Of course, it's not impossible that Charlie might be very unlucky recently and encounter other accidents, but Lumiere felt that in such matters, one must never be complacent.
While waiting with his tray, Charlie noticed Lumiere's gaze and felt a bit uneasy.
Remembering Lumiere's mysterious "prophetic" ability, he hurried over and asked in a hushed voice, "Did you see anything?"
Lumiere smiled and said, "I see that you will soon have a romantic encounter and develop a relationship beyond friendship with a beautiful lady."
"Really?" Charlie was both surprised and delighted.
The lady's name is Susanna Mathis...
Lumiere withdrew that statement, laughing heartily, "You're so gullible! You believed that?"
"I knew it..." Charlie looked disappointed.
The existence of the Fool's Device made him have no doubts about Charles's ability to deceive.
Watching Charlie walk towards the edge of the dance floor with a tray full of glasses, Lumiere's smile slowly faded.
His thoughts raced, and he wondered, "Is it my bad luck, or is it fate? The official extraordinary agents will soon focus on Mr. Evis and the Old Pigeon Cage Theatre, arresting all the cultists of the 'Desire Mother Tree' and finding out the whereabouts of Susanna Mathis to purge her completely. Yet, today Susanna Mathis might attack Charlie and me again... Damn, it must be that pig-like Telmyphoros's fault!"
"Based on my previous experience with observing luck, the problem will erupt as early as tonight or at the latest by the end of the day after tomorrow...
"I can't rely entirely on Susanna Mathis only attacking us after the day after tomorrow. I must prepare for the worst..."
Lumiere, influenced by the swearing of Francka and Jenna, forced himself to calm down and made a rational judgment about the situation.
At the same time, he devised a preliminary strategy: first, disguise himself and warn Charlie to go to the nearest Eternal Sunlight Church tonight and stay there for three days;
Second, seek out Francka in White Suit Street for assistance.
With Francka and K's finger as support, Lumiere believed he had a good chance of surviving the first attack by Susanna Mathis, and she wouldn't get another chance. Whether through Francka's discreet channels to alert the official extraordinary agents or Charlie seeking refuge in the church, both would indicate to the Eternal Sunlight Church that Susanna Mathis had reappeared!
Although Lumiere could manage to deal with Susanna Mathis on his own with K's finger, given the debt he owed Francka, why not accumulate a little more favor and ensure a higher chance of success?
Without further delay, Lumiere finished his absinthe, stood up, and left the Breeze Dance Hall.
He returned to Room 207 at the Golden Rooster Hotel and took out the "Secret-Scope Glasses," placing them on his nose.
Once again, there was a spinning sensation, a descent into the underground, the vast brown-green roots, and the ubiquitous insects and rats hiding in various places...
Just as Lumiere was about to take off the glasses and start his makeup, he saw a tuft of green hair intertwined with vines and branches.
Bang!
