Upon hearing the poet's question, Lumian froze, feeling a chill rise from his tailbone and pierce his brain in an instant.

Whether it was Aurore knocking him out in the dream and taking him to the ritual site, or Father Michel Garrigues doing it in reality, both of them had lizard-like little spirits crawling out of their mouths—or rather, they had been subtly polluted by these creatures!

And if Lumian hadn't become the vessel, hadn't been pushed onto the altar, standing before Aurore, the ritual for Termimopolus' descent might have succeeded. In that case, Aurore wouldn't have pushed the vessel off the altar to disrupt the ritual, and Mr. Fool's mark on Lumian wouldn't have been activated!

This realization made Lumian's thoughts incredibly chaotic.

He had never considered that the lizard-like little spirit could be the one sabotaging the ritual. It had secretly polluted Aurore and Father Michel, causing unconscious changes in them, making them overlook important matters, and missing their last chance to save themselves!

"What... what is it trying to achieve? What is its true goal?" Lumian asked in pain.

The poet, shrouded in mist, answered in a calm voice:

"I'm merely interpreting the symbolic meanings of the elements in your dream; I can't fully restore the truth of what happened.

"Of course, I can attempt to offer some speculation:

"The lizard-like little spirit represents a force that sought to use the large-scale angel summoning ritual of the followers of fate to achieve some secretive goal. However, it didn't want to see Termimopolus truly descend upon the land.

"Is the 'Rose School of Thought' retreating into the market district because of the 'Shadow Tree' incident? We received your detailed information from the 'Blessed Society.'"

"Where is that?" Cordu asked casually.

"Considering the area surrounding the ritual site that caused him to fall asleep, it seems that another force's influence was exerted. Disrupting the ritual was our main goal; calming him down was a secondary action."

"That wasn't one of his initial investigation directions." The poet smiled and said, "Decoding is not divination, nor is it prophecy. You need enough information to deduce; you can't just guess."

Regret... Reluctance... over a beautiful past life...

Cordu fell silent, not speaking for a long while.

The child of a humble mother... Cordu thought, letting out a hiss, feeling that this event was only slightly less serious than Termimopolus' descent.

The poet leaned back slightly, resting his elbows on the wooden table, his hands still clasped together:

"He should've asked these questions earlier. The one interpreting his dream's symbols is an expert from the 'Rose School of Thought.' Go ahead and ask him now."

"Based on this man's experience, the 'Desire Fate' and the organizations worshiping it, though they exhibit clear purpose, ample drive, foresight, and competent planning on a larger scale, often display disorder, chaos, and madness when it comes to specific events. This mirrors the state of the evil god itself."

"Why was the whole village of Polos destroyed, but only your and Aurore's home remained intact?"

The "Magician" gazed at Cordu, smiling as he spoke:

"Some families who hold the 'Devil' or 'Criminal' paths have exhibited signs of worshipping 'Desire Fate.'"

"What hidden purpose are they trying to achieve?"
