Franka calculated the time and asked in detail, "What dangers does the altar hide? How much has Susanna Mattis recovered today?"As soon as Lumian heard Franka's question, he roughly guessed her thought: If it's feasible, why not take this opportunity to destroy the altar and completely eradicate the still-weak Susanna Mattis?
Before tracking the fake Yves after leaving the Breezy Ballroom, Lumian had already considered a similar plan—since Lentase had taken Charlie underground, Lumian believed their destination was where Susanna Mattis was hiding. So, when fetching the carbide lamp, he also grabbed a few bundles of dynamite from the safe, hoping to use the environment to blow those people to pieces.
Lentase's blurry, pale face seemed to take on a hint of holiness: "The altar is just an altar, only the radiance of my lord, no danger at all."
The more you say that, the more dangerous it sounds... Lumian muttered as he stood by the "Wall of Spirituality."
Lentase continued, "I'm not sure about Susanna's exact condition. I only know that two weeks ago, we couldn't see her; occasionally, she could make sounds. Last week, we could communicate with her normally, and when we activated our spiritual vision, we could see her. Today, she seems no different from before, but she appears very weak."
Susanna was originally at the level of a Sequence 5 "Fallen Dryad," but now she's restored to a strength close to Sequence 6? Lumian made a preliminary assessment based on Lentase's description.
If Susanna weren't hiding at the "Desire Mother Tree" altar, Lumian might have thought this was worth the risk.
Franka pondered for a moment and asked, "Do you normally pray and receive blessings at the altar?"
"Yes," Lentase said in a reminiscent tone, "Susanna is our priestess, allowing us to feel the love of the Lord for humanity, to sense the truest desires within every person, and to truly understand ourselves."
Hearing this, Franka rationally gave up on further questioning and instead sought the truth from small details: "Is the altar usually guarded?"
"Susanna is always there." Lentase's blurry, pale face gently wavered on the mirror's surface.
Franka looked at the makeup mirror in her hand and asked, "Was the altar guarded during the two weeks when Susanna was severely wounded?"
Lentase's spirit answered truthfully, "No."
Franka couldn't help but glance at Lumian and found him also showing disappointment and regret.
From Lentase's earlier responses, they both clearly realized one fact: that altar has hidden protection mechanisms, and they are strong!
Otherwise, even though it's hidden underground and hard to find, precautions would still need to be in place for bounty hunters and cave explorers who like searching for treasure in Trier's underground, as well as for smugglers temporarily changing their routes or wandering university students.
Franka exhaled, thinking that the matter of the altar and Susanna Mattis was best left to the authorities to worry about.
The evil spirit still had two days to recover, and she and Lumian had already discovered the altar's location—there was enough time!
Franka then moved on to other questions: "How many members of the Bliss Society are left in Old Pigeon Cage?"
"Not many," Lentase's pale face, with eyes flickering a ghostly green, replied. "But I only know a few. Myself, Yves, and Herdsey take orders from Maip Myer. He's the theater manager and the one representing Susanna in Bliss Society affairs after she became an evil spirit."
