Lumian's left hand trembled, revealing the radiant, multicolored glow of the Sun painting. The chilling coldness of the living room was noticeably alleviated, though the frost that had condensed on the floor showed no signs of melting. However, the twisted, pale, or bluish faces turned away from the sight.
Headless and drenched in blood, Harman rushed at Lumian, ignoring the fact that his revolver was already aimed at him, as if determined to forcefully "embrace" his target. The Sun painting caused Harman's body to tremble slightly, with his blood dripping onto the floor.
Lumian instinctively knew he shouldn't confront the "blood corpse" head-on. He used his elbows, protected by a light brown jacket, to block Harman's hands. The jacket quickly turned bloodstained, showing signs of corrosion.
At this moment, as "Black Scorpion" Roger hadn't appeared for two or three seconds, Franca finally had a moment to act. She gathered a thick, dark flame in her palm and hurled it at the zombified Harman. The black flame struck the surface of the bloodied corpse like a cannonball, instantly igniting the latent spirituality within the blood and the corpse itself.
Harman began to melt, just like Castina had, as if thrown into a bonfire.
Just then, "Black Scorpion" Roger reappeared. He emerged from a pale face in the corner, holding a life-sized statue of a woman with soft features, her long dress intricately carved with lifelike folds.
Struggling to place the statue on the floor, Roger quickly retreated, merging back into one of the many agonized, twisted faces, narrowly avoiding Lumian's gunfire and Franca's black flames.
A second later, his body emerged from the chandelier on the ceiling, cursing rapidly, "You're both dead!" "I'll turn you into fertilizer!" "You bastards dare invade my Undying Domain!" "I'll drain all your life!" "You'll bear twenty children!"
With each sentence, "Black Scorpion" Roger changed position, constantly moving and dodging Lumian's Sun painting and Franca's black flames and ice-based witchcraft.
Every seemingly ordinary word, spoken in Intisian, pierced into Lumian's and Franca's minds like arrows, causing dizziness, rapid heartbeats, and a resonation within their blood. The female statue in the corner reacted, igniting with a radiant flame.
A buzzing sound rang in Lumian's head, as if an enormous, invisible hammer had struck him. Blood uncontrollably trickled from both his nostrils.
At the same time, Franca, who had leaped back onto the sofa, clenched her left hand, igniting Lumian's nosebleed with black flames, preventing Roger from taking advantage.
She, too, had suffered similar damage. Franca suspected that Roger was using some sort of curse-like incantation, and the female statue seemed to amplify it. Even with her enhanced physique and spirit, she couldn't withstand more than a few sentences.
Based on the fact that Roger had done nothing to protect the statue, Franca believed that attacking it directly might result in even more terrifying consequences, most likely manifesting as a curse.
Enduring the boiling of her blood, dizziness, and pain in her body, Franca raised her brass revolver and fired at "Black Scorpion" Roger, while simultaneously leaping toward the area where the statue stood.
The iron-black bullet shattered a twisted face, leaving a mark on the wall but failing to harm Roger.
As Franca landed, she began circling the statue. She didn't fire her revolver again or thrust her sleeve sword. Instead, she focused on dodging the long, thin figures summoned by Roger, which extended from the blood, while creating layers of frost on the surface of the statue.
