The "Magician" lady didn't say much more and asked again, "Will you return to the Breezy Dance Hall now or stay here until noon?"

Lumian had never left Intis, let alone visited the Southern Continent, and since he had nothing urgent to attend to, he nodded and said, "I'd like to take a walk."

The "Magician" lady gently nodded and vanished before his eyes.

Almost simultaneously, a bone-chilling wind passed through the crowd, hitting Lumian.

Coming from the summer of Trier, he couldn't help but shiver.

Accompanied by the cold wind, the previously distant market noise, which had seemed to be hundreds of meters away, flooded Lumian's ears, giving him a true sense of entering this world.

Thinking about how the "Magician" lady's appearance and disappearance had gone unnoticed by those around him, Lumian quickly made a guess:

Did she quickly create a "spiritual wall," or did she pull me into a semi-independent alternate space?

Indeed, Lumian was in an Intisian colonial city.

...

Laps swept his gaze and his eyes fell on the golden words above the entrance of a white building.

Through the defensive and evasive reactions of the men dressed in robe-like garments and the fearful, hateful stares of women herding cattle and sheep, amid the thinner air than in Trier, Birchin drank his corn porridge as he made his way to the end of the market.

Seeing Laps, he cheerfully called out:

"Hey brother, want some mummy powder? Genuine mummy stuff!"

Curious, he followed over and noticed that the entrance was guarded by several Intis soldiers, wearing white octagonal caps, blue jackets lined with gold, white trousers, and white boots.

"Since you're not yet a member of the 'Iron Cross Society,' your task is only partially complete. Next, you'll see if you can officially join while continuing to assist with his actions."

What does that mean? The Church of the "God of White Night" from the Ruen Kingdom has reached into the Star Highlands? Laps pondered this for a moment, then continued his casual stroll.

"Why does he display the mummy in the window to prove the ashes' authenticity?"

After thinking for a moment, Laps walked through the self-clearing path in the crowd and arrived at a stall.

"You just arrived, Lumian. There was an incident on your way here," Birchin said with a laugh, speaking in the Trier dialect.

Laps pointed to the iron pot cooking the yellow corn porridge and asked in Intisian:

The potion seller nodded deeply.

After walking for a while, Laps saw more locals entering a grand, solemn eight-story white building.

The taste was mildly sweet, with a hint of spice and a touch of bitterness, perfectly balancing the gamey flavor of the lamb chunks, making the meat's texture bloom fully on the tongue. The sensation was unique yet incredibly appetizing.

Laps slightly tilted his head, relying on his "Hunter's" ears to casually eavesdrop on the clergy's conversations.

As he marveled, he drew an octagonal holy symbol across his chest.

The door opened, and it was Franca. As usual, she wore a gentleman's shirt, cream-colored breeches, and red boots. The difference was that today, she lacked a light-colored pleated skirt around her waist.
