After hearing Aosta's explanation, Lumian found it amusing and thought, "What kind of strange rule is this?"

Recalling things like racing turtles, interstellar bridges, candlelit tours of underground catacombs, and jogging along with crowds, he figured it wasn't that odd after all.

Perhaps the citizens of Trier just enjoyed these unique experiences.

As more people started arriving at the cabaret, all wearing monocles, Lumian casually asked, "What happens if new guests don't know about the rule?"

Aosta pointed to the end of the old street. "There's a shop there that sells monocles and short suits."

"I suspect it's owned by the 'Unique' cabaret's boss." Don't even doubt it... Lumian muttered.

He even thought that Timons had established such a rule for the 'Unique' cabaret just to earn more money by selling short suits and monocles.

Of course, it also catered to the citizens of Trier who were always chasing after the latest trends.

"How long has it been open?" Lumian pointed at the 'Unique' cabaret across the street with his chin.

"More than twenty years, I think. It was already here when I first came to Trier. They say it opened when cabarets started becoming popular in the city." Aosta glanced toward Purgatory Square. "Anything else? I need to get back underground."

He was solely focused on making money, afraid of missing out on clients seeking divination or "help."

Lumian turned his head and stared intently at him.

Aosta's heart skipped a beat, feeling as though a wild beast had its eyes on him.

"What's wrong?" He instinctively forced a smile.

Lumian looked away and nonchalantly said, "Just be careful these next few days."

"What?" Aosta was confused and a bit frightened.

Could Charles be threatening me? We just had a pleasant collaboration, and he even asked me to help him find some materials!

Lumian chuckled, "I mean it literally, but it has nothing to do with me."

"Oh, and gather some more information on the lake monster for me, as detailed as possible. The reward will be the same as before."

Who is he? Am I going to have bad luck and get beaten up? Aosta tried to decipher what Lumian really meant.

Meanwhile, he couldn't shake the feeling that Lumian's tone and style were oddly familiar, but he couldn't quite place where he had heard it before.

On his way back to Purgatory Square, Aosta decided to perform a divination for himself to see if he was really going to have bad luck.

As a "Mystic Seer," his success rate and accuracy in divination were much higher than that of ordinary people.

At that moment, Aosta suddenly realized why he felt that familiar sense.

Isn't that the way I usually talk to my "customers"?

Across from the ancient building, Lumian hesitated about whether to buy a short suit and monocle to blend into the 'Unique' cabaret and observe the environment firsthand, gathering more information.

"But if Timons really belongs to some secret organization and is friends with the police commissioner, kidnapping him for a few thousand Filkins wouldn't be a wise move. It would interfere with my main tasks. In that case, the money spent on the short suit and monocle would be wasted. And they aren't cheap." Lumian was never stingy when it came to spending money, especially since Trier had plenty of "generous people," but he was still quite frugal when the expense wasn't justified.
