After Louis and the others hid the body, Baron Brignell casually asked Lumian, "I'm really curious, how did you manage to take down Hammer Ett?"

Lumian didn't hesitate to reveal the details. He pulled out the now-empty small metal vial and placed it on the table in front of them.

"What is this?" Baron Brignell examined the vial closely for a few seconds.

Lumian smiled and explained, "This afternoon, I went down into the underground and encountered a maniac. After dealing with him, I found this vial of gas-based sedative and its corresponding antidote on him. I then sneaked into Hammer Ett's room and hid in the bathroom. I drank the antidote, waited for him to come in, and then opened the vial. I engaged him in close combat, holding him down and preventing him from leaving the bathroom until the sedative took effect."

Baron Brignell thought for a moment, confirming the feasibility of Lumian's plan. He nodded in satisfaction and said, "The bathroom is small, so the gas-based sedative would quickly fill the space. There shouldn't be any ventilation ducts there. Given Hammer Ett's personality and his precautions against us, he wouldn't allow anyone to easily sneak in. The gunmen outside wouldn't dare to shoot randomly, as they could accidentally kill Hammer Ett. They might not even be able to open the bathroom door."

As he spoke, it was as if Baron Brignell could see the entire scene unfold before his eyes.

Louis and the others, listening nearby, nodded in agreement. After hearing the analysis, they realized that Lumian's swift elimination of Hammer Ett wasn't as unbelievable as it first seemed.

Lumian had indeed found a path to success, fully utilizing the resources at his disposal.

Under that plan, as long as one's combat abilities weren't too far below Hammer Ett's, there was a good chance of taking down the traitor.

Of course, for the entire operation to succeed, strength, luck, decisiveness, boldness, and information gathering were all essential.

This was a testament to Lumian's capabilities, even though it wasn't as terrifying as they initially thought.

Baron Brignell was more impressed by Lumian's intelligence, though he was slightly displeased that Lumian had brought Hammer Ett's body back to the Breeze Ballroom, nearly causing trouble for him. However, the Baron didn't blame Lumian. Now that he had calmed down, he realized the problem was more on his end.

"It seems I've always presented myself as too confident and too clever, making it appear that nothing is too difficult for me. That's probably why he believed I could provide enough protection and that there was no need to be afraid of Black Scorpion Roger. After all, this whole plan was my suggestion, so it's natural for him to think I'd be well-prepared."

As they chatted, time passed by. Before long, a Savoie gang enforcer guarding the entrance downstairs came up and informed Baron Brignell, "Baron, Inspector Everett is here."

"Invite him up," Baron Brignell said, standing up to greet him at the stairway.

Travis Everett was the inspector of the Market District Police Headquarters, one of the highest-ranking officers directly responsible for law enforcement. Above him were a few deputy chiefs and the district's police commissioner, who oversaw everything.

Baron Brignell enjoyed dealing with Everett because, in the language left behind by the Roselle Empire, he was a typical "nice guy." He didn't like digging into the truth of matters and just wanted everyone to get along without causing any big trouble. He was very good at resolving conflicts between the various gangs in the Market District.

A few seconds later, the inspector, accompanied by two subordinates, entered the café on the second floor. He was around thirty years old, nearly 1.75 meters tall, with short-cropped black hair. His blue eyes were framed by large black-rimmed glasses, and his jaw was slightly broad. At this moment, he wore a black police uniform, with a shoulder badge featuring a black background and a silver-white five-petaled clover, indicating his rank as an inspector. Seven petals would signify a chief inspector, and above that, a beige diamond would be added.
