The night alley was quiet and empty.Lumiere carefully avoided the trash piles where rats and cockroaches roamed. Sometimes he moved quickly, sometimes slowly, occasionally changing direction or taking a long detour, as if he were shaking off an invisible pursuer.
At last, he reached White Coat Street and entered the "abandoned" safehouse, whose lease had yet to expire.
Following his usual procedure, he pulled the thick curtains closed and meticulously inspected every corner of the room.
Compared to before, not only had he burned the bedbugs and driven away the rats, but he'd also eliminated even the smallest flies and insects, making sure the place was "spotless."
After finishing, Lumiere sat down at the desk, spread out a piece of paper, and began writing a letter:
"Dear Ms. Hela,
While participating in the 'April Fool's' group discussion under the identity of my sister 'Muggle,' I noticed that 'Siso,' 'Madwoman,' 'Bard,' and 'Ultraman' all reacted strangely to 'Muggle's' return after a long absence. Additionally, I have a 'friend' who seems to have been the psychologist 'Muggle' visited during her final days.
Moreover, they are working with 'Loki' in a charade, trying to entice other group members to search underground for the remnants of the ancient Sun God.
I believe 'Loki' is the actual leader of 'April Fool's.' If others are compromised, he surely is too. So I bought a copy of 'Ancient Sun God' materials from him and had someone help me divine that the typewriter used for the document was located in the 'Alone' bar in Old Street, Terriel Observatory District.
After conducting field investigations, I discovered the bar is a Bureau Eight base. However, it seems 'Loki' has set his sights on me. I was attacked at dusk, nearly turned into one of his puppets. I barely escaped using my own abilities and some items, but my real-world identity has now been exposed to him.
When writing this letter, I had already taken refuge in a pre-arranged safehouse, but I'm not sure if I've truly shaken off 'Loki's' pursuit.
I suspect that he presents a significant danger, and if this issue is not addressed, it could one day bring disaster to the research group.
I hope to receive your help."
Lumiere didn't hesitate to be direct about his intentions.
He intended to use himself as bait to lure out "Loki" and have "Hela," who could borrow the power of "Secrecy," hide in the shadows and deal a fatal blow to the leader of "April Fool's."
Against such a bizarre and difficult-to-kill figure, perhaps only someone of a higher sequence than him and Franca, with the ability to remain "hidden," could avoid detection and identify the real body.
After folding the letter, Lumiere quickly set up a ritual and summoned the pure silver skull, whose eye sockets flickered with pale flames.
Franca, having returned invisibly to Apartment 601 on 3 White Coat Street, persuaded Jenna to go home for a few days to stay out of harm's way.
After repeatedly confirming she truly couldn't help, Jenna cursed under her breath, opened the door, and sensibly gave up on trying to act tough.
Franca quickly changed clothes, using disguise tools acquired from "Bliss Society" member Rentas to alter her appearance.
As she applied makeup, she cursed at fate:
"I shouldn't have let Jenna leave first! She's better at this, her makeup skills are way more advanced."
