It was terrifying, even when you were one to never see colors.
Blood.
Not as much as the previous murder scene you've witnessed, but judging the person's state, someone you recognized as a neighbor, kneeling in front of a guy surrounded by a ghostly like scarf, it was enough to make your hair stand on edge.
For a reason unknown, the guy, or monster as you realized they had bones for legs, didn't seem to notice your staring.
Instead, he enjoyed the sight of this man slowly loosing his life source, with only some non mortal injuries. Without the help of the few bloodied games you've played, seeing this murderer toy so much with his prey would've made you puke. Still, you couldn't help feeling nauseous by it.
What you didn't understand though, was why your neighbor couldn't get up and run. He was indeed injured, but they weren't looking that horrible for now... It seemed he was kept down by an invisible force.
Once you heard a deep, bone-chilling chuckle coming from the monster, your senses tingled in alarm. His voice was as dangerous as he appeared to be.
"Welp. Just like the others... That sucks, I'd have loved a little challenge." he said, sounding completely mad.
That was when you understood he wouldn't let this man survive. If you stayed here, you'd become a witness, and forever live with the burden of watching someone die in front of you.
You never wondered why you did such things, nor what kind of adrenaline fueled you for this. You got the nearest piece of trash and instinctively threw it out at this madman's head. What followed after was beyond your understatement, but you watched in terror the object simply hitting him, without doing a thing. Yet, he turned his head slowly toward you, face so well hidden under his hood, you could barely make out his face.
"Oh? So we got another one running heh?"
This was it, fight or flight instinct pumped energy to your feet, making you turn and run away. Where? You didn't even care, as long as it wasn't near this guy. Uncaring for your heart, nor breath, you took twists and turns in a place that suddenly became so foreign to you.
With him trailing behind, sounds of his more calmer and calculated steps echoing almost anywhere and everywhere at the same time.
Whether your brain was playing tricks on you, or he was able to teleport. A temporary thought that disappeared way too quickly, for the skeleton popped in front of you, a few feet away between your home and yourself, stopping you short just to force you into an alley. Unfortunately, blinded by your will to escape, you didn't realize sooner the trap closing around you... That was, until you tripped and fell down in this dead end.
It took you so long for your mind to come back, but it was too late.
A strong force, added to your trembling and tired body, pinned you down on the ground, making you almost paralyzed. As if fear wasn't enough.
"At least you run, and fast too. I give you that..." Came his voice, unbothered by the recent chasing, right behind your back. "Any last wish?"
For a moment silent, trying your best to recover your breath for starter, you finally acknowledged the situation. He obviously wasn't normal at all, and you've been an idiot trying to run away from such a being. However, you couldn't bring yourself to accept dying from his hands, even if you had saved someone else's life. What you needed was a way to escape... Or gain time.
The worst of idea came only then. When you had no opportunity to run, you needed to fight. "I... I h-have one." you stuttered, trying your best to sound confident and strong, despite the state of your outer shell.
