Awkward bonding

Waking up never was this horribly messed up and crazy. Especially with an insane skeleton monster having his fun in your living room.

Truth was, you had forgotten halfway about his presence, so once you got up in your pajamas, walking like a zombie down the stairs and back to where you had streamed yesterday, you were beyond shocked to see him, rummaging curiously through your stuff before he noticed you. As you blushed out of shame, he shot you an amused look, greatly enjoying the moment.

It was easy to learn he had no sense of intimacy whatsoever either.

Fogged memories of last night came back steadily but slowly, allowing you to sum things up while trying to keep as much cool as you can. Part of yourself wanted to laugh at the irony, the other still couldn't believe it.

Of course, once you had to ask him to calm down and sit, his rebellious and malicious attitude was enough to make you understand it was real.

This was going to be long, you just knew it.

Everything luckily settled down after your usual morning soda to wake your brain up. Yet, the atmosphere still remained tensed, though it was obviously because of your Soulmate's identity. This time, however, you weren't going to let it get over your head and stay rational.

"... Want something?..." You clumsily offered first, letting him sit in the middle of the blanket fort proudly resting on your sofa. He was definitely making himself at home.

Thoughtful for a little, he ended up shrugging. "Nope, already had."

At least it was clear. So without any further ado, you went to take a seat nearby, not too close though since you weren't that comfortable, then started the discussion after a sip. "So... You came all the way... Just because we're Soulmate, right?"

That... Wasn't what you wanted to ask, for you weren't sure about it yourself. But he still answered plainly. "Don't see the fun of entering someone's house to kill them. And I said I wouldn't anyway... So yeah." A shiver ran down your spine, such words being both reassuring and creepy. "Just 'cause we're Soulmates. So what now?"

He asked this in a way that made you feel like you were supposed to have the answer. Which was obviously not the case. "Don't know?..."

It became so surreal. How were you supposed to know what to do?

Soulmates were a weird thing no one ever took the time to teach you properly, not to mention you didn't try learning about it either. Some of your friends said it was amazing, others that it wasn't worth it. And in the end, you had remained neutral and pretty much unsure, instead carried on with your life without bothering yourself. Could this be of use? Good? Would it have a downside? Or worse? Judging your other half was a murderer, perhaps the real worst was already here, by your side.

"Gosh this is complicated..." You sighed in defeat, clearly growing weary of having no way to get yourself out of the situation. "And I'll have to work for the next hours. Way to start a day."

"Work?" His question caught you off guard, although he did seemed interested. "What're you doing?"

You didn't know how to explain the concept of being a professional gamer, but it was harder to convince him not to touch at anything and everything. If there was one word to describe him perfectly, was Sadist. Tricky and all the more unsettling. You soon got the feeling of not having a bloodthirsty murderer with you, instead a rebellious teen with a morbid sense of humor.

The very second he cracked out a pun, you stared at him beyond bewildered. "What exactly are you?!" you mumbled out of surprise, to which he simply laughed and shot you his scary yet tempting eyes.
