Sweet rain. Pouring heavily against the wall as you listened to its loud melody from the safety of your bed.

Then loud thunder echoed like the shatters of a mirror.

You opened your eyes gently, taking a deep breath in a way to remind you you were still alive. Despite a lingering pain in your chest and shoulder, you felt rather nice. Back against the mattress, part of your body tucked under the sheets, your whole arm bandaged, the stillness was yours to treasure for a while, at least until your body would be completely healed.

Wind added a nice touch to the chaos raging outside, swirling and screaming. It reminded you of a banshee in a way, and gave a great hint of the powerful storm going on right now.

It was there, after a week of waiting dreadfully. And as powerful as it was predicted, if not more.

On the bright side, you knew all the previous prisoners safe and sound in their own homes. Since police helped them and managed to arrest the remaining survivors of the gang. Things have calmed down soon after the explosion you created, and you miraculously survived thanks to Killer.

If he hadn't found and teleported you, god knew what you'd have become...

He literally saved your life.

Talking about the devil, he popped oh-so-suddenly in your room, plate full of food of all kind in hands, most likely because of your Boss. "Look who's awake." He chuckled, letting down what he brought by your side as you got up, ignoring the pain of your body. He raised a brow at your action, amusement clear in his tone. "I don't know how you humans work exactly, but aren't'cha supposed to rest right know instead of tossing around that much?"

"Already did. Been in a coma for two days. That's enough." You playfully retorted, using your uninjured hand to grasp the plate and set it on your lap, while he simply took the chair to sit nonchalantly. "A bullet's nothing when you've survived as long as me."

Hum of acknowledgment escaped his mouth. "Yeah, noticed that."

Another thunder roared, making the whole structure rumble, yet it didn't surprise any of you.

Instead, your Soulmate relaxed to the soothing sound of chaos outside. Maybe it was weird, but knowing you safe here made you enjoy the destruction you couldn't see, for your blinds were closed. It filled the silence in which you ate the food meant for your recovery, along with some pills against pain and whatnot. Clearly Boss outdid himself both in quantity and quality... Judging you almost died last week before now, you couldn't blame him.

Only a matter of minutes was needed for lunch to be gone, and for Killer to get to the knife collection and start his own little throwing competition, all alone. The sound of blades slicing the board full of pictures was barely noticeable against the loud melody of the storm.

How long was it going to last? An hour perhaps? Or more?

Side of you hated being in bed too long, and you've stayed in there for so many days, to the point it felt like an eternity. What you craved right now was to spread your invisible wings and fly up to the roofs, so you could taste sweet freedom once more. Unfortunately, the injury couldn't allow that and it fueled your frustration to levels hardly containable.

"Not gonna pry, but ya seem to have quite a lot on your mind." Killer spoke in the emptiness, probably to fill the instant and twist it into something useful.

To that you sighed in irritation, seemed like you couldn't hide yourself from his observant eyes. "Been here for too long, really. I can't take it anymore." You admitted bitterly. "If there wasn't this hell of a storm, and that god damn wound for that matter, I'd have already gone back to my real place... Can't help wanting to be free outta here. And..."
