AS THE TRAIN SPED into the Capitol, the scenery outside the window turned into a blur of bright, colorful lights and towering buildings. The environment of District 4, with its calming waves and beautiful sunsets, felt like a distant memory. Lilia wasn't sure she'd ever see her home again.

"Might as well play into the show," Lilia muttered to Adrian, who's eyes were still sunken to the floor.

Standing up, Lilia made her way over to the window. From outside, she could see hundreds of Capital citizens waving to her excitedly. Taking a deep breath, the girl flashed a bright smile toward them, waving back.

Smartly, Adrian rose from his seat and did the same.

The two tributes waved together, earning loud cheers from the crowd outside. They stood shoulder to shoulder, their hands lifting in unison to greet the crowd standing along the train platform.

As the train slowed to a halt and the doors slid open, the four members of District 4 made their way toward the exit. Lilia stepped out first, the sound of the crowd growing louder as she appeared on the platform. She kept her chin high, her posture perfect, and flashed a pretty smile toward the crowd.

Adrian followed her lead, his eyes now bright with enthusiasm that almost looked real.

As they walked down the platform, Lilia's gaze swept over the environment. The Capitol was a place of excessive beauty and opulence, its members dressed in absurd fashions. The buildings towered above them, each one more impressive than the last.

It was a place designed to prove that they were better than the districts.

As they exited the platform, the noise of the crowd grew even louder than before. Lilia glanced over her shoulder, spotting Finnick and Annie as they stepped out of the train. It was no secret that Finnick Odair was one of the most beloved tributes in the history of the Games, his popularity earning him love and admiration in The Capitol.

Finnick stepped out with that easy, charismatic smile that Lilia was all too familiar with. He raised a hand, acknowledging the crowd, and they responded with wild screams that pierced her ears.

"Finnick!"

"Finnick, over here!"

Around her, cameras flashed, and people shouted his name, desperate to catch his attention. Lilia's eyes widened at the scene. She knew Finnick was a beloved victor here, but seeing it first hand was something else entirely.

The four of them – two mentors and two tributes – made a powerful image together, and the Capitol citizens ate it up. Lilia could see their excitement, their fascination, as they waved and cheered.
